Tonight’s episode of NXT was the personification of bitter-sweet. While everyone was completely dejected that Karrion Kross had to relinquish his hard earned title, there was a lot of excitement over the big return of Wade Barrett.
Even though the former Nexus leader returned as a commentator, watching him on a WWE show in 2020 was the best thing you could ask for. On his part, Barret did a more than satisfactory job at the announce desk.
No one expected him to surpass the skills of the eloquent Mauro Ranollo. However, he delivered on what people really wanted from him – an unparalleled insight into the psyche of the in-ring performers along with little snippets of his own wrestling experience.

For the uninitiated, Barrett isn’t a stranger to the commentary desk. He has helmed the announcing responsibilities on NWA Powerr for quite a while now. It’s possible that the overwhelmingly positive response he got caught the attention of Triple H.
Barrett will be returning to NXT next week. Obviously, this raises questions about the nature of his WWE deal. Most reports indicated that this was just a one-off.

Now that he’s been confirmed for one more night, rumors of an in-ring return have begun in hushed tones. In fact, if you were to check Twitter, fans already have their own theories worked out.
WWE Universe wants to see Wade Barrett back in action
Wade Barrett last wrestled in May 2016. Even though he’s been around wrestling on and off since then, he’s not donned his in-ring gear. The reasons are pretty straight-forward.
He wanted to focus on his acting career. Additionally, WWE was not the best experience for him. Apart from being badly booked, he was deprived of opportunities that were rightfully his.
However, Vince McMahon has convinced tougher people in the past. There’s no reason shy Barrett can’t be another name on that list. Fans certainly seem to think that he’s the leader of Retribution. Apart from this, they event want him to contest for the NXT Championship.
Kross forfeiting the NXT Title on the night Wade Barrett returns. The solution is pretty simple.
