NXT General Manager William Regal has vacated the NXT Tag Team Titles. An injury suffered by Danny Burch has caused Regal to make a snap decision, and many believe it is the right one. Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch were decent champions but were nothing compared to previous champs.

The British bruiser suffered a separated shoulder after taking a suplex from Karrion Kross. Regal booked Kross and NXT Champion Finn Balor to face the NXT Tag Team Champions, but their teamwork spared no fruit after Balor drop-kicked Oney Lorcan into Scarlett. An incensed Kross destroyed Balor, leaving him prone to a pinfall from Lorcan.
The news broke out on NXT’s Injury Report special on YouTube. The tag champs attempted a double suplex on the massive Kross, but he countered it into a double suplex of his own. While Lorcan landed on his back, Burch landed on his shoulder, which led to the gruesome injury.
I can confirm this incredibly unfortunate news and make the difficult decision to vacate the #WWENXT Tag Team Titles. Furthermore, I will address the state of the titles further tomorrow night on @WWENXT. https://t.co/z3iQdC1Ruc

No one assumed the severity of the injury would lead to the NXT Tag Titles being vacated, but it is the correct option. With NXT Takeover: Stand and Deliver, NXT can crown brand new Tag Team Champions. MSK won the Dusty Rhodes Classic back in February and hasn’t received their title shot yet.
After nearly stealing the show against the Grizzled Young Veterans, fans would salivate at the prospect of watching a sequel. To make things more interesting, William Regal could add a stipulation to the match; perhaps a two-out-of-three falls match?

After being drop-kicked into Scarlett, Oney Lorcan has his hands full with her husband and the No. 1 Contender for the NXT Championship. With Lorcan securing a win over the champion last week, a convincing performance against Kross could secure a title shot for him.
