Every year, many new talents emerge from WWE’s development show NXT. Nikita Lyons rose to fame as one of the most sensational newcomers over the period of the last year. After her debut in WWE back in 2021, the young NXT star immediately proceeded as the future face of the women’s division, creating her presence on the show.

But we all know that the path to greatness never comes easy. The 23-year-old faced a mystery attack in the parking lot on the January 24th NXT episode earlier this year. This was WWE’s way of writing her off the TV. The budding superstar has undergone serious knee surgery for her torn ACL and meniscus. However, there was no confirmation about how long it will take for her to be back in action until yesterday.

While speaking with McKenzie Mitchell during the Tuesday edition of NXT, Lyons came up with a major update about her return. She revealed that it will take nearly 11-12 months for her to be on the road. However, she hopes it to happen sooner.

However, Tiffany Stratton seemed to create trouble for Lyons as she interrupted her in between the conversation. She also threatened her by saying if it was Tiffany herself who messed with her, it would be a permanent out of action for her, and not ‘just for one year’. The Buff Barbie Doll also complained about Lyons taking up TV time.

Back in January, Nikita Lyons first opened up about her injury update on social media. Thanking her fans and followers to be with her in the tough time, the NXT star wrote, ”ACL & Meniscus are torn. This comeback is personal. Thank you to all who consistently show love & genuine support. It means the world to me. Those of you who don’t see the vision, thank you too. Stay ya a** right there. This is just another lesson life needed to teach. Love”

Previous injury history of Lyons

As there is always a risk of injury involved in WWE, this is not obviously the first time for the young superstar, even in her very short career span, to be out of action. She had a partial MCL injury and an MCL sprain back in May 2022, causing her to be out of the NXT Women’s Breakout tournament. However, unlike the current injury, this only kept her on the shelf for a month.
