The statement that The American Nightmare released regarding his wish to have a ‘manager’ happened around the same time as Arn Anderson revealed that he will no longer be employed at AEW. As of 31st May 2024, the wrestling legend is not bound by any clause. When people started connecting the dots, Jim Cornette thought it wise to warn Cody Rhodes using his opinion.

The former WWE employee said on his YouTube channel, “I’m not sure. I think maybe there might be something more to it as a heel but also if we were all a little younger. I don’t know that it would fit with Cody right now as a person to give advice on an intermittent basis?

Not only does Cornette think that Anderson is a bit too old for the job, but he also believes that Cody Rhodes as a babyface doesn’t need a manager during his career run. Moreover, when the two worked together in AEW, Tony Khan didn’t do a good enough job to sell Anderson’s role much. Besides, the former coach has also made it clear that he wishes to spend the rest of his time with his son, honing his skills to help him work better in the wrestling industry.

Meanwhile, the former AEW EVP may retire one of his old teammates from wrestling by potentially retaining his title further.

Cody Rhodes’ storyline could be the end of AJ Styles’s career

The feud between the two stars started right before Backlash 2024. At the time, it was a random match card that fans only liked because of the wrestlers involved in the same. However, WWE was quick to convert that one feud into a bigger storyline when AJ Styles faked his retirement to beat down the Undisputed Champion in the middle of the ring. After the drama on SmackDown, it is possible that fans will see The Phenomenal wrestling for the title yet again.

However, if it doesn’t work out for him, which is the likely outcome at this point in the storyline, then it could end up in the real retirement of AJ Styles. as believed by WWE analysts. Discussing AJ Styles’ career on ‘Instinct Culture’, Robin Lundberg questioned, “What happens after AJ loses again to Cody Rhodes?” To this, Denise Salcedo was quick to reply, “Then he’s really gonna retire like, ‘All right, I’m done. That’s it. I tried. I’m done.’
