We’re entering the week of WrestleMania XL and WWE superstars have appeared in several media channels to promote the show. At this time of year, some talents offer juicy headlines. And this year has proved no exception with CM Punk at the microphone. Ariel Helwani has interviewed the former world champion for The MMA Hour podcast. There, he has revealed his point of view on some aspects of his career and his past few years as a professional fighter.
And during the interview, Punk mentioned Brock Lesnar. A name that the WWE has been trying to avoid for quite a while. And not just that, the Second City Saint also revealed the reason why he mentioned Lesnar in his iconic pipebomb.

CM Punk’s iconic pipebomb against John Cena and the WWE is what turned him into an icon overnight. So much so, that he is still asked about the infamous segment. And in his recent interview, he revealed why he named Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar in the promo and how it was all a conscious decision. He said, “I never do anything that exposes the business. I know where the line is and I know where to dip my toe over the line. Right? It changed the landscape of WWE. Because the reason I said Paul Heyman’s name and Brock Lesnar’s name is because I was not supposed to. Like Persona non grata. Right? And to me, it’s not that big of a deal mentioning these two guys’ names. But to everybody because everybody knew the rules and they knew the parameters and they knew that would specifically piss somebody off like I said it. So to me, I’m getting away with m**der but I haven’t even like kicked the dog you know.”
He further revealed that it was all motivated to make more money for the company and for himself. He added, “And everything I said was related to everything that was on television. Same with that line now. If you want to think that I was talking about somebody because I was talking about currency and Bucks that’s on you. But that’s the magic of CM Punk”. Well, surely the magic worked, and he did end up turning himself into the Cult of Personality. And now he has returned and will be a part of the commentary team at WrestleMania XL for the match between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk. But before doing commentary there, he gave his thoughts on Seth Rollins’ matchup on night one of Mania.

On the first night of WrestleMania XL, one of the most anticipated matches on the entire card will take place. Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins will join forces to face Roman Reigns and The Rock. In a match where if the faces win, the presence of The Bloodline at ringside during the match between Reigns and Rhodes on night 2 will be prohibited. On the other hand, if Roman Reigns and Dwayne Johnson win, they will choose the rules for the Tribal Chief’s world championship match.
This matchup generates a lot of debate around who the winners will be. And many WWE Superstars have wanted to give their opinion on the matter. The most prominent of all has been CM Punk, who will miss this WrestleMania as a wrestler. But he has been clear in stating that Roman Reigns and The Rock will win since Seth Rollins is the weak link of the team he forms with The American Nightmare.

He said that he finds it hard to bet against The Rock and Reigns. But it is equally easy for him to bet against Seth Rollins. He further states that if there’s a weak link, it’s the Visionary. In addition, many other superstars wanted to contribute their point of view. Rhea Ripley, the reigning women’s world champion, bet on Rhodes and Rollins to win. Jey Uso also supports the reigning heavyweight champion and Cody. The Miz on the other hand, took a stand in favor of The Bloodline. Lyra Valkyria and Liv Morgan also believe that it will be the faces who win. It seems evident that opinions are very divided. So we will have to wait until next Saturday to determine what plans WWE has for both the tag team match. And also for the confrontation between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns the next day. What do you think? Who would win the fight? Let us know in the comments.
