Cody Rhodes is the most celebrated baby face currently in the WWE world. Although he had to undergo a bit of social media backlash following a lackluster start as a WWE Undisputed Universal Champion, the amount of love he has, so far, garnered almost nullified that repel effect. Even so, the idea of Rhodes emerging as a heel isn’t going away.

Capitalizing on that momentum, Busted Open Radio co-hosts emphasized the reality of Cody Rhodes’ heel embodiment since his AEW tenure. They foresee another Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes singles but this time with swapped images.

Long before The American Nightmare returned to his old promotion with the motive of pursuing his late dad’s dream title and finished his story, becoming the undisputed hero of the ‘New Paul Levesque Era’, Rhodes played an underwhelming heel gimmick as part of AEW.

But before he could dive deep into the darkness as a full-blown villain, he left the promotion. The potential didn’t go unnoticed by the wrestling world, a part of which still craves a piece of it in WWE. Talking in the latest episode of Busted Open Radio, Denise Salcedo & Matt Camp discussed the possibility of Rhodes turning heel eventually and attacking the Tribal Chief down the line.

”There is a baby face Roman heel Cody match that they can do down the line that I think will do tremendous business for that company. Because if Cody turns the dial just a little bit more the other way, and you put Brandi with him, Cody coming out in a suit is not relatable to me or you.” one of them noted.

The timid Cody Rhodes is just a facade. Rather they believe it’s a heel through and through for Rhodes. On the other hand, Roman Reigns resurrecting as a baby face is a long-cultivated idea in the WWE realm with Bully Ray being the latest advocate of it.

Will Roman Reigns come off as a face upon returning? Explained

Roman Reign’s babyface turnback in 2014 proved to be a flop affair that still stings, but history has a knack for repeating. Reigns, as a prized heel, etched a place in history as he came down the ring to drop his title with grace after a massive 1300+ day run on WrestleMania Night 2. The unbridled chants of “Thank you, Roman” at the Raw after WrestleMania almost overshadowed pro-Cody Rhodes’ response to some extent and showed that the fans would be more than happy to see the Tribal Chief as a baby face.

With the new Bloodline gradually taking over under the forced leadership of Solo Sikoa and Paul Heyman, Reigns remaining on the back foot provided a solid stage for it. Going with that notion, Bully Ray suggested on another episode of Busted Open Radio that, ‘‘When Roman returns, he’s gonna be a monster babyface!!!.”
