Over the past few weeks, we have been seeing Austin Theory and John Cena going back and forth. Two weeks ago on RAW, we saw Cena basically going on and on without letting the US Champion say anything. All over the internet, you could see that people were sure that Cena had buried Theory’s career. But unlike what people thought, Theory had something to say.
Trying to bring down Cena in his hometown, Boston is impossible, so Theory’s silence was understandable. But the US Champ found another platform to insult Big Time John, and he’s not going soft. This might not be the main show, but headlines will surely reach Cena’s ears.

On WWE The Bump, the host asked Austin Theory if John Cena and he met before everything went sideways. To this, the US Champion recalls a moment from his past when he met the 16-time world champion who gave him some advice about his future in the company. Theory added that he listened to the wise words and put in the work that got him here.
But then the champion added, “But the thing people have to remember, that a lot of people wanna say, oh he’s the next John Cena, I used to appreciate that. But now, sure, he was a motivation but not one of those days he was next to me, helping me. Now, realizing all the work I’ve put in, and the level that I’ve gotten to by myself, I don’t need John Cena.”
To finish his clap back at the enormous number of people calling him the next Cena, the US Champ called Cena a motivational video. He commented that Cena is just like a video that you see one day and forget about the next. This might have hurt Cena if he was keeping up with the Bump or reads about it later in the headlines.
