“Not Gonna Make You Choose Between Me and Them”: Emotions Ran High When John Cena Told Nikki Bella What Sister Brie Bella Suggested to the 13x WWE Champion

John Cena had a very public relationship with his ex-fiance, Nikki Bella. Fans got a closer look at the romantic lives of both the WWE stars on the reality TV shows Total Divas and then Total Bellas. The shows captured the ups and downs between Cena and Nikki when they were dating each other. There were many heartwarming moments of the couple on the show and at times, we also saw tense encounters involving the two stars.

In one such episode of Total Divas, Nikki Bella’s family confronted John Cena about his relationship. Brie Bella explained to Cena how her sister was sacrificing a lot of things to be with him including marriage. After their confrontation, Nikki Bella showed up at Cena’s house where he talked to her about her family.

During the third season of Total Divas, fans saw tensions brewing between Nikki Bella and John Cena over their future. Cena didn’t want to be tied to a family and marriage, and Nikki was adamant before giving in. This led to Brie Bella and the rest of her family questioning John Cena about his relationship.

Then on the next episode of the show, Nikki visits John Cena’s home where the 16-time WWE World Champion asked her if she had the chance to talk to her family. Nikki replied Brie wasn’t telling her the “whole truth” and she was disappointed in her. Cena then told her family is important to him and he wouldn’t want her to choose between them and him.

But then Cena said, “I see how you are with them and I am not gonna make you choose between me and them. But your sister had told me to let you go.” This drew a reaction from an agitated Nikki Bella who stated, “That just kills me. That’s horrible. I hate her. I never ever wanna see her again.” Nikki and Brie Bella remained at odds during that Total Divas season before reconciling.

Brie later told Cena she felt bad about the whole situation as well. Even though Brie wanted Cena to make up his mind about her sister and confronted him, she once squashed rumors of her hating John Cena publicly and said she loved him like a brother.

This was the perfect example of emotions and tensions running high in the relationship between John Cena and Nikki Bella, highlighted by the cameras of Total Divas. Fans got to see a lot of such drama during Cena’s relationship with Nikki Bella on reality TV before their eventual split.
