Roman Reigns is one of the most polarizing figures in sports entertainment. While the man is loved to bits by a vast section of professional wrestling enthusiasts, the number of fans who hate him to the core isn’t very less either.
For the latter, Roman is someone who was born and bred into the business, and was made the face of the company just because of his looks and superhero persona.
It’s also obvious that this group of fans has an alternative imagination of the top star of the company. Probably that should be someone who has paid their dues in the independent circuit and has scratched and clawed for every little bit of success.

One person who definitely fits that billing is the phenomenal one AJ Styles. From helping get TNA wrestling off the ground to proving his mettle in the hard-hitting wrestling world of Japan, Styles has done it all.
Some might say that he is the very antithesis of Roman Reigns. However, in an exclusive interview with Sunsports, AJ Styles revealed why the myths about Roman are all based on falsifications.
As per the phenomenal one, it is Reigns who played an instrumental role in helping him find his own in the big leagues of the WWE.
AJ Styles heaps praise on Roman Reigns
AJ Styles revealed that the WWE wasn’t always easy for him. He was new to the bright lights and he needed a helping hand.
“You have this indie guy in 2016. This guy from Japan just walked right in there and step in the ring with Roman Reigns.
“Now the perfect scenario was in place because not everybody loved Roman. Now he is definitely one of the biggest stars but not everyone loved Roman then and so you have this indie darling, right?
“And it was like, oh, they made it easy for me to be in there with Roman, because Roman is such a huge star.”
AJ feuded with Roman through 2016, facing him at Extreme Rules and Payback. Even though he would fail on both the occasions, it nicely set him up for a reunion with The Club and a very dominant heel run.
It was the launching pad for his now legendary feud with John Cena, in which he pinned the leader of the Cenation multiple times.

“It only got better from there when I had the opportunity to get in the ring with Roman, one of the pay per views, actually a couple of pay per views I think.
“When I’ve got a title opportunity, it was against Roman Reigns. Unbelievable match. I’ve watched it back. Wow. I can’t believe we did all this stuff that was really good.
“So, yeah, Roman Reigns is a big part of the reason why my career’s where it’s at.”
