Dwayne Johnson enjoys the privilege of being one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood. The WWE icon has enjoyed slow but steady progress to become the highest-paid actor in America after his debut in The Mummy Returns in 2001. Many other WWE stars have also tried their luck like The Rock but only two have mainstream success. Recently an ex-WWE Hardcore Champion snubbed Johnson and praised one of those actors.

He clarified he loves all the actors that transitioned from wrestling to Hollywood but he holds a special place in his heart for Dwayne Johnson.

Maven calls Batista the best character actor in the WWE

Batista started his WWE career in 2002 as a menacing heel enforcer for Reverend D-Von. He eventually joined Triple H’s Evolution and became a household name among WWE fans. Then he left Legacy in 2005 and went solo becoming a 6-time WWE Champion.

Batista then left the WWE in 2010 as he did not approve of the company’s direction. That’s the exact time he ventured into acting full-time. He acted in mainstream films like The Man with the Iron Fists (2012), Riddick (2013) until he got his most famous role of ‘Drax’ in Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014 alongside Chris Pratt. Batista was recently involved in a controversy as some fans body-shamed him for not being fit in the 3rd part of the movie. But as the news got bigger, Batista got positive support from fans far and wide.

He has acted in almost 44 movies to date. Maven was one wrestler who also started his career with Batista and is a good friend of his. On a recent appearance on the podcast Chris Van Vliet, he praised Batista for his acting skills. He said, “All wrestlers that turn into actors, I’m a fan. I think he(Batista) is the best character actor.”

Then the host mentioned Batista’s latest movie Knock at the Cabin to which Maven replied, “That was the movie I was gonna say, that first, that opening scene, with him and that little girl, I can’t picture another wrestler delivering it the way he did. Because he is so big and menacing but there for a moment, that went out of your mind. And he was that guy trying to earn her trust, that’s a skill”.

WWE fans would beg to differ as some would say it’s John Cena while others Dwayne Johnson. But going back to Maven’s friendship with Batista. He once did a huge favor for Maven which made him become a huge star in that gym.

Batista agreed to be the guest for a gym’s opening at Maven’s request

Batista and Maven both made their WWE debut around the same time and have been close friends since. So much so that Maven once said he would take a bullet to the leg for Batista.

Going to show that their friendship is quite tight. And it’s so tight that once Maven asked Batista to be present for a gym’s opening, and he gladly obliged without any hesitation.
