“Not a Fan of Cena’s Acting But…”-Upcoming $80 Million+ Collaboration Between John Cena and Jackie Chan Catches WWE Universe’s Attention

Whether it’s wrestling or the movies, John Cena aims to give his absolute best for the sake of entertainment. This time, John Cena has joined forces with the action movie megastar, Jackie Chan. The duo is featured in their upcoming action/comedy film, Hidden Strike. Although the release date for the movie hasn’t been announced yet, the official trailer has gotten the fans going wild. Fans expressed their thoughts about the much-awaited upcoming film on social media. 

In the film, John Cena and Jackie Chan play the roles of two ex-special forces soldiers who are on a mission to escort a bevy of civilians along the “Highway of Death” in Baghdad. In order to lead them to the Green Zone safely, Cena and Chan contend with various challenges. 

Hidden Strike was originally slated to be released in 2019

The film is directed by the maker of Need For Speed, Scott Waugh. Interestingly, the film was in the works around five years ago. However, the strained political relationship between the US and China stalled its release in 2019. In addition, the global pandemic, Covid 19, further delayed the screening.

Another interesting fact about the upcoming film is that it had several name changes. Before it was confirmed as Hidden Strike, The film went from being called Project X to Project X-Traction to Snafu. 

The film would mark John Cena’s first time sharing the screen with Jackie Chan. While Jackie Chan is a bankable personality in several action film franchises, John Cena is catching up. The wrestler-turned-actor made his second appearance in the Fast & Furious franchise, Fast X, reprising his role as Jakob Torreto.

XYZ Films released the official trailer of the upcoming film. Judging by the compelling trailer, the film seems to be a great mix of action and comedy. Let’s not forget, Jackie Chan is a legend when it comes to the action/comedy genre. And John Cena is also carving out a decent Hollywood career in action and comedy. Unsurprisingly, the official trailer of the film is keeping the fans on the edge of their seats.
