Superstars like Hulk Hogan and Steve Austin have helped build the foundation of WWE. These superstars have brought tons of profit for the wrestling promotion and still continue to do so in some way or the other. But according to Dave Meltzer, there is one person who has made WWE the most money and you will be surprised to know who it is.

The person in question here is no WWE superstar but the CEO of the promotion itself, Nick Khan. In a recent tweet, Meltzer stated how Khan has helped WWE to make a fortune with a simple yet brilliant idea.

Recently a fan named Dan C. on Twitter tagged Meltzer in his post and asked why WWE made the decision to move their premium live events to Saturdays. In 2022, WWE broke its tradition and started to hold its premium live events on Saturdays instead of Sundays.

Responding to the fans’ tweet, Meltzer stated it was Khan’s idea to shift the PLEs from Sunday to Saturday. He said that WWE CEO felt big sports events were better on Saturday nights. Another fan, Shawn Farley, appreciated Khan’s brilliant mindset and complimented him.

Once again, Meltzer replied and stated that Khan’s decision was very impressive, which led WWE to gain a lot more money in the past year. He stated that no other superstar, not even Hogan or Austin, has made the amount of money for the Stamford-based promotion that Khan has.

Nick Khan took the position of sole CEO of WWE after Stephanie McMahon resigned in January earlier this year. He served as the president and Chief Revenue Officer before being appointed as the co-CEO alongside ‘The Billion Dollar Princess,’

Certainly, Khan’s decision to shift PLEs was as it has proved to be very successful for the sports entertainment giant.

WWE started to hold PLEs on Saturdays from 2021

The transition from Sunday to Saturday started two years ago. WWE held its 2021 SummerSlam on Saturday, the first since 1992. The event was held in Vegas and WWE wanted full attendance. Sunday is the best day to go out and relax with friends and family, especially in Vegas. Thus SummerSlam was shifted to Saturday that year.

At Q2 2021 Earnings Call, Khan confirmed they would soon make the day switch to future PLEs. In 2022, the transition officially took place as WWE started holding their PLEs on Saturday nights.
