Rey Mysterio recently got inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame under the class of 2023. The legendary wrestler has been in the promotion for a long time. Along this decorated run, Mysterio made a lot of allies who later turned into enemies and the late Eddie Guerrero is one of them. The two had a dynamic past together that linked them for life, but the Guerrero family seems to be fed up with it.

Eddie’s brother Chavo Guerrero recently sat down in an interview. Guerrero called out Mysterio publicly for being too involved with the Guerrero family. He has a problem with his family name being overused.

Appearing in an online interview with the ‘Captain’s Corner’, Guerrero made bold statements. According to the wrestler, the surname of the Guerrero family reverberates in the wrestling industry for a long time. He believes that the family has worked hard to elevate the prestige of the name in the business, whereas promotions use it to throw in good storylines. The wrestler went on to call out Mysterio as well.

I’m sorry that no one knows who Rey Mysterio Sr. is, Rey Mysterio Jr. No one knows who he is and I’m sorry that you have to latch on to the Guerrero family and we’re just kind of tired of it,” said Chavo Guerrero while sounding fed up with Mysterio’s attachment with the family name.

Reportedly, Guerrero has also hinted that he wishes to return to the squared circle of WWE. Considering his rising feud with Rey, he could return to support Dominik Mysterio in his quest to defeat his father. Nevertheless, it is important to understand what kind of relationship Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero shared both inside and outside the ring.

Both Mysterio and his late friend go way back to the time when Rey was just 13 years old. Guerrero and Mysterio went on to forge a deep bond and worked together for several years. The dynamic duo worked in WCW together as a team and went on to join WWE as well.

WWE set the wheels in motion for an on-screen feud between the two friends. The feud began in 2005. Fans believed that Guerrero was the one who made Mysterio recognizable for the main event in 2006. After Guerrero passed away on an unfortunate day in 2005, Rey Mysterio, along with Chris Benoit and Chavo Guerrero, inducted him into the WWE Hall of Fame the following year.
