WWE stacked the deck for the 30th anniversary of RAW as big names from past and present featured on the special occasion. Fans got to see Hulk Hogan, The Undertaker, and Shawn Michaels appear on the show. But one big name missing from this celebration was the Hardcore Legend Mick Foley. The WWE Hall of Famer couldn’t do it to the show he helped put on the map during the Attitude Era. Monday Night RAW has been home to some of the biggest names and moments in pro wrestling history. In fact, Mick Foley’s iconic WWE Championship on the show in 1998, topped the list of WWE’s top five RAW moments ahead of Dwayne Johnson’s 2011 return and John Cena being drafted to the brand. Hence, fans duly noted his absence from RAW.

Mick Foley did address the reason for his absence from the show on his Facebook page. Foley noted that the “hectic nature” of his schedule meant that he had to take some rest and decline the offer. He said that he has been working on a new project that requires a lot of traveling and had he appeared on RAW, he would’ve been on the road for 32 consecutive days. Foley further said that he needed to relax and catch up with his family.

Indeed, it would’ve been special to see Mick Foley or any one of his wrestling avatars appear in person for the 30th anniversary of the show deeply connected to him. The fan frustration is understandable, but Foley’s explanation makes it clear that it would’ve been too much for him to travel these many days non-stop. Though he didn’t appear on the show, fans will always have his epic title win in 1998 to cherish.
