The teamwork between Shawn Michaels and Triple H cannot be understated. The duo gained popularity as members of DX and were massively over. Speaking about DX, their cultural impact is not forgotten to this day, as 76ers star Joel Embiid embodied the stable during his celebration. This led to both Hunter and Michaels sending invites to the star to the WWE.

Despite being a big name in the 76ers, Embiid was fined for his DX-styled win celebration. This gave the two WWE icons the opportunity to welcome him in.

Shawn Michaels joins Triple H in inviting Joel Embiid to WWE

Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers is a massive WWE mark. Embiid led the NBA during the 2021–22 and 2022–23 seasons. This made him the first center to do so since Shaquille O’Neal. He was also the first center to average over 30 points per game.

Embiid never hid the fact that he loved the WWE, especially Triple H and D-Generation X. However, the NBA was never a fan of him expressing his love during victories with ‘Crotch Chops.’ Most recently, his team won 126-98 over the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday. He celebrated his shot with the iconic ‘Crotch Chop’. On Tuesday, it was announced that he’s getting hit with a $35,000 fine.

Previously, he did the same during the match against the Brooklyn Nets. He was fined $25,000. However, this got the attention of the DX members in the WWE. Taking to social media, Michaels posted, “Show up at @WWENXT
and I promise no fines… I know a guy.” 

The ‘guy’ Michaels is referring to is none other than Triple H. Hunter also invited the NBA star with his own post. The WWE Creative Head wrote, “Hey @JoelEmbiid – I know a place where you can do that all day, and everyone will love it. @WrestleMania 40 is right there in Philly.” This goes to show the respect WWE gets from other stars.
