WWE has a habit of pushing a wrestler seemingly out of nowhere. The latest example is Nikki Cross, who, at the moment, is in the midst of the biggest push of her career following her victory over Rhea Ripley.

Following her return to WWE, Nikki Cross hurled a challenge to either Charlotte or Rhea Ripley. Since WWE had already scheduled Charlotte to face Asuka, Cross had the opportunity to face Ripley.
The match had the classic ‘Beat the Clock’ stipulation as Nikki stated she could defeat Rhea in mere two minutes. Not wasting any time, as soon as the bell rang, Cross charged at the Raw Women’s Champion. Ripley showed her brute strength and shoved Cross down by her face. ‘The Nightmare‘ pointed at the clock, mocking Cross.
Both female Superstars went back and forth with Rhea dominating most of the time. Ripley had Cross down in a corner with less than 10 seconds to go.
It seemed that ‘The Nightmare’ forgot about the time limit and ended up letting the clock run out. This resulted in a victory for Nikki Cross. Ripley tweeted out her frustrations on Twitter.
Your’e a clever little weasel @NikkiCrossWWE.

Bizzare aftermath
After the match ended, Cross did laps around the ring, celebrating as her music played. Ripley looked on and smoldered from the ring with nothing else to do as she realized what happened. Suddenly, Nikki’s music was interrupted and out came Charlotte Flair.
‘The Queen‘ posed on the ramp as the fireworks went off. Rhea Ripley rolled her eyes in the ring with dread.
Adding insult to injury, even Nikki Cross started to taunt the Raw Women’s Champion. ‘The Nature Girl’ pointed and laughed over this unexpected turn of events.
At the moment, it doesn’t seem like WWE sees Cross as a formidable challenger. Regardless of what anyone thinks, it was wonderful to see Nikki Cross get some television time in the ring after going months without a match on Raw. The fans also feel Cross is talented eenouh to not just sit on the sidelines.
This upset over Rhea Ripley might not land her a title shot but will probably lead to a rematch next week. Without any added stipulation, Rhea Ripley will almost certainly wipe out the floor with Cross.
