Nia Jax vs Naomi Match’s Embarrassing Wardrobe Malfunction Revealed After WWE Censored SmackDown Livestream

SmackDown was once again the stage for a major wardrobe malfunction during the Queen of the Ring tournament. Naomi faced Nia Jax on the blue brand in the first round of the tournament and despite putting on a solid performance she fell short. However, a spectacular effort by Naomi was overshadowed due to an unexpected wardrobe malfunction that she had to take care of while also handling her opponent.

Although Naomi was unable to overcome Jax, the two put on an entertaining bout. This was despite Naomi having issues with her ring gear and having to adjust her top during the match. One particular moment led to an uncomfortable situation for the former TNA Knockouts champion.

A clip from the match was shared on X, which shows Naomi delivering an impressive hurricanrana from the top turnbuckle only to have to grab and adjust her top as she scrambled to go for a pinfall. Naomi was struggling to keep her front covered on live TV. This led to WWE to use a black screen which has usually been the case in the past to censor something the network didn’t want airing.

Throughout the match, there were some black screen cuts for fans streaming the show or watching the telecast as Naomi frequently had to adjust her top and battle Jax as well. This wasn’t first time a wardrobe malfunction happened on SmackDown in the recent months. Tiffany Stratton was the one to experience the unfortunate incident back in February.

On the February 16 episode of SmackDown, Stratton took on Velina Zega in a Elimination Chamber qualifying match. Stratton came out victorious thanks to interference from Elektra Lopez, but suffered from a wardrobe malfunction.

Stratton had an issue with her top following a moonsault from Vega outside the ring, causing the producers to switch to the black screen. Cameras remained away from Stratton when the feed returned until she was able to fix her top. Naomi herself has been a part of another wardrobe malfunction, although that time it was Alexa Bliss on the receiving end on RAW.

In 2019, Bliss wrestled an impromptu match against Naomi on RAW. Since she wasn’t expecting to compete, she didn’t have her wrestling gear with her. ‘The Goddess’ was without her proper boots and struggled to stay in her new pair of shoes in the match. During the match, Naomi, unintentionally removed Bliss’ shoes during the match, causing her to be upset and getting in the ref’s face. This distraction allowed Naomi to pick up the win.

Although such moments are rare, almost all wrestlers have experienced something or another going wrong with their appearance during matches.

Mandy Rose’s “embarrassing” moment in 2019

Mandy Rose, who held the NXT Women’s Championship before her abrupt firing in December 2022, has made a presence on social media. Mandy Rose and her fiance co-host the Power Alphas Podcast together. On the 21st episode of the show, Rose revealed that out of all the good pictures that she has of herself, she can’t get over a picture of her from one of the past matches.

She revealed that during the the 2019 Elimination Chamber women’s tag team match, she  experienced one of her most embarrassing moments in WWE. Rose said, “So, there’s like a picture of me, standoff trying to be all bada**. Side pony, lipstick on my teeth. If we’re going most embarrassing moments, that was definitely one.” 

Although it is a passing moment in time and most fans probably don’t even remember noticing that during the live show, the image on the official website bothers Mandy Rose. Similarly, while fans may not remember Naomi’s malfunction, this story may stick with her for some time.
