SummerSlam 2024 went down on a marvelous note. WWE granted fans what they wanted. A spectacular night filled with a series of jaw-dropping clashes called for a perfect finishing touch. Roman Reigns’ gratifying return and immediate assault on Solo Sikoa got that job done. But fans’ hope will keep on escalating from here.

They can’t help but imagine a similar entrance of The Beast in due time. SummerSlam 2023 was the last time the WWE Universe got to witness Lesnar in his full glory. But to their dismay, the chances of his return are slim unless and until WWE kept it close to their chest.

Last SummerSlam was the last time Brock Lesnar laced up his shoes to finish off his rivalry with Cody Rhodes. After receiving a tremendous blow, he went on a hiatus that eventually got extended, with a serious controversy causing him trouble. The company played safe by banning Lesnar from all active programming as they got to know about Lesnar’s involvement in Vince McMahon’s lawsuit scandal. However, since there has been no substantial proof, the company has taken a soft stance on The Beast. Triple H revealed they will work on his return angle once the dust settles. But the time is still far to go, as PW Nexus quenched a fan’s query, noting there’s still no update on this.

In wrestling, we never say never. So, the hope continues whipping it up. However, Lesnar engaging in a rivalry with Gunther remains off the table at the moment.

Brock Lesnar’s potential feud against Gunther remains a hollow dream

SummerSlam has been treated as the landmark PLE to host several returns over the last few years. Given Triple H’s nod about Brock Lesnar’s re-arrival to the lore and the Beast’s unmatched SummerSlam glory, fans promptly connected the dots. They even fantasy-booked Lesnar against Gunther, setting up a perfect stage for the Beast-esque return. The idea was Brock Lesnar would come out to the ring to confront the Ring General the moment he stepped up for the celebration following a clean victory against Damian Priest.

The Beast would intervene and take him out in a spine-chilling segment, according to this theory. Both stars had already laid a foundation for this moment back in the 2023 Royal Rumble. The duo had an intense which set anticipation about a potential rivalry down the road.

But the reality turned out far from this. Gunther walked away from Cleveland as the glorious new World Heavyweight Champion and Lesnar was seen nowhere near the ringside. It will be interesting to see if the company ever chose to capitalize on the fans’ booking to tip Lesnar and the current heavyweight champion against each other or not.
