Anything related to AEW these days is targeted at CM Punk. The man who shocked everyone with his return to the new company has grabbed the limelight for many backstage skirmishes in the company as well. Some claim that it was the result of Punk’s ego, while others claim that the locker room wanted to get rid of Punk.

But there have been no credential reports that claim one or the other. Instead of that, there is a lot of news surrounding Punk’s behavior in the company. This has led to reports from even last year cropping up now, to show Punk’s behavior and the fans are not having it.

In an exclusive report, Cassidy Haynes of BodySlam revealed an incident between William Regal and Punk back in 2022. Regal joined AEW last year after his firing from the NXT head spot. This was a big decision as it led to the formation of the Blackpool Combat Club, which involves Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley, among others.

According to this report, Haynes claimed that “Multiple sources have confirmed to me details about an incident that took place between CM Punk and William Regal, which occurred when Regal made his AEW debut. In the altercation between the two, Punk refused to shake Regal’s hand, and would then get in the legend’s face, telling him that he did not like him, he did not trust him, and that Regal was a “stooge for Triple H.”

Being a stooge for Triple H was not only a remark on Regal but also Hunter not treating his employees as friends, but rather as stooges for WWE. While this news carries merit as it comes from a reputable source, many fans are calling it out for an entirely different reason.

Fans question the timing of the story and term it “ridiculous”

In a landscape that is highly hostile or compassionate toward Punk, this news seems to many people as a way to get more clicks. It makes the viewer either comment that this was proof or discredit it as unwanted, either way gaining traction.

This fan claims that this news is only for clicks, given the current wrestling landscape.

This fan can’t believe that Punk has beefed with so many people in the AEW backstage.

Many fans are calling out this report given the context of painting Punk as the bad guy.

Seeing The Young Bucks celebrating in the ring as Tony Khan announced Punk’s firing seems to devalue this recent report.

This fan thinks that this report just goes to show that a recent report about Punk is unlikely to happen.

With Punk’s hatred for WWE showing in this report, it seems far-fetched that he would go to WWE. This fan made a similar remark.
