Vince McMahon is arguably one of the greatest figures in pro wrestling. Fans can credit McMahon alongside a few WWE superstars for uplifting WWE and turning it into an international giant from a regional promotion. Even with his limited involvement, McMahon still is one of the most influential figures in the industry.

Vince McMahon’s feud with Stone Cold Steve Austin in the late 90s was one of the most pivotal points in WWE’s history. McMahon’s heated rivalry with Austin shifted the paradigm for WWE and helped them beat WCW in the Monday Night rating wars.

However, a few years later, Austin walked out of the company over the creative disputes over Brock Lesnar beating him. Austin expressed his discontent with the way things unfolded and left the WWE. Although, soon The Texas Rattlesnake would start making sporadic appearances, but stopped wrestling altogether.

Austin returned to in-ring action last year at WrestleMania 38 against Kevin Owens after an absence of 19 years. As the glass shattered on that night, fans felt the surreal moment. Until recently, when he again teased another return.

Recently during Ryan Satin’s ‘Out of character’ podcast, when Satin asked him about another potential return, Austin gave him a diplomatic answer, instead of brushing it away.

What did Stone Cold Steve Austin say about his potential WWE return?

Speaking on the podcast, Austin hinted at a possible future return. When Satin asked him if they could witness the glass-shattering sound again, the 58-year-old answered along the same lines.

He said, “Well never say never. If the stars align again, hell I mean it could happen again right?” After a surreal return last year at WrestleMania 38, fans expected the legendary star to return this year as well. While initially John Cena was pitched to have a fight against Austin, this upcoming Mania, it never materialized.

However, soon plans changed to LA Knight going up against Austin. Fans are expecting a confrontation between Knight and Austin at The Grandest Stage Of Them All. LA Knight is currently extremely over as a heel, and it would be the correct decision to pitch him against Austin.

However, The Texas Rattlesnake’s appearance is still in doubt and is not confirmed yet. Fans are expecting him to return to WrestleMania 39. However, if WWE fails to find a creative direction for him within one week, chances of a return at the grand event seem unlikely.
