A couple of years back, Dwayne Johnson met the NBA team Los Angeles Lakers. This visit by The Rock happened a few days before the Lakers signed Small Forward LeBron James. This is the reason James missed the session in which Johnson advised the LA Lakers to always have their back against the wall.
Johnson said, “This is what works for me. I keep my back, excuse my language, my back is up against this motherf**ker (bangs the wall behind). Everyday it’s against this f**king wall, excuse my language. But it’s against this motherf**ker because it’s what I believe in. When my back is against motherf**ker, then there’s nowhere to go! But that way (points straight). That’s it.”
He added, “So I feel like this could be something; an ideology mindset that could help you could if you look at it that way because you made it already, we made it, we’re successful boys and we’re lucky boys to be we’re at.”
The Rock explained to the team how they are at the top and have minimal financial problems. He told them about nobody is going to get evicted as everybody has a home now. Moreover, the team members don’t have to worry about the money anymore.
However, The Rock claims while doing his work and his business, he always has his back against the wall. This advice indeed helped the Lakers as they won the NBA finals two years later in 2018.
