When Naomi walked out of WWE in 2022, everyone in the pro wrestling world took notice. Not only was the walkout unconventional, but it put her wrestling career at risk as well. Now, in 2023, after almost a year after that incident, both Sasha Banks and Naomi have changed their ring names and appear in different promotions, still entertaining fans with their talents.

While Banks came back to the ring at the beginning of this year, fans were worried that Naomi was left behind. But that wasn’t the case at all because she recently debuted in Impact! Wrestling under her new ring name, Trinity. But in an interview, she also detailed the importance of being out of the ring this past year.

Naomi unveils an added benefit to her infamous walkout

In an interview with Forbes after her return to wrestling, Naomi talked about her life while outside the ring. She talked about the surgery that she went through during the time when she didn’t make any appearances. Then she even opened up about her friends in the business, like Mercedes Mone and Jade Cargill. But the one thing that she clearly pointed out as a benefit was the time with her family.

About her marriage with Jimmy Uso, she said, “And really just being able to focus on my marriage and my relationship away from the road. Like, both of us not working and one of us being home to be able to take care of home. That’s been a blessing. And yeah, just a new layer to our relationship in marriage. Because we met at 21 in developmental, and so our whole life has been together on the road wrestling.

Wrestlers, especially WWE wrestlers have to work a match every week and be on the move constantly. So, it’s understandable that this might have been a new experience for both Jimmy Uso and Naomi. But the time for staying at home is up for Naomi, who is going by the Trinity now. While she has signed with Impact! Wrestling, what could be next for the former SmackDown Women’s Champion?

What does the future look like for Trinity?

After the popularity of The Bloodline grew exponentially, everyone thought that Naomi will join them. Even the Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns believed it could be possible. But now, with her signing with IMPACT confirmed, it looks like she’s going to stay in the promotion for a little while.

Many fans online have complained about how this is a downgrade for her status, but history confirms that Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley became champions only after going through the competition in Impact! So, the same might be true for Trinity. Impact! has some of the most renowned female talents in the wrestling business, as Naomi herself admitted.

From the Virtuosa Deonna Purrazzo to the Hulking presence of Jordynne Grace, the promotion is full of talented stars. Legends like Mickie James and Melina also frequent the promotion, so there’s a high chance we could see a dream match happen. The sky is the limit for Naomi right now and we wish her the best of luck.
