Naomi and Simone Biles—Is this the ultimate power duo in sports entertainment?

Since losing the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship at Clash at the Castle in mid-June, Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill have sought to regain the belts. They had their rematch three weeks ago on SmackDown, but the match ended in disqualification after Blair Davenport stepped in to later join Fyre and Dawn.

However, Belair and Cargill did get the opportunity to get revenge against their rivals tonight on Friday Night SmackDown, as they were joined by Naomi in their fight against Fyre, Dawn, and Davenport. It truly was a thrilling match that ended with a victory for the babyfaces as Noami ended things up with a split-leg moonsault on Davenport.

However, the win wasn’t the biggest highlight of the night for the trio. The real spotlight stealer for them was their tribute to Olympic Champion Simone Biles. Belair, Cargill, and Naomi wore a series of colorful attires inspired by the American gymnastics team. Especially the ones worn by Simone Biles, Hezly Rivera, Sunisa Lee, Jade Carey, and Jordan Chiles. The ‘Golden Girls’ won gold in the all-around competition at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Soon Naomi also took to her Instagram story to share a picture of Biles with an emoji showing her love and admiration for the Olympian.

Maybe it was a tribute that also helped them get motivated for the win tonight. Something that they would love to continue at Bash in Berlin. There, Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill will get a second chance when they challenge Alba Fyre and Isla Daw again for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. Nick Aldis announced the same before this Friday’s episode of SmackDown through WWE’s social media.

This is the fifth match confirmed for the WWE Bash in Berlin, and there is still just over a week to go, so it should not be ruled out that the company decides to add some more matches for the first WWE Premium Live Event held in Germany. This will truly be a great opportunity for Belair to grab the gold again since she has been on the midcard for a while now. So now, she would be looking to keep herself at the top of the mid-card and not feel the same embarrassment she felt once against Becky Lynch.

Bianca Belair doesn’t have fond memories of SummerSlam 2021

Bianca Belair is one of the biggest faces of WWE’s women’s division. In recent years, she has been able to enjoy very special moments, but others of which she does not have great memories. At SummerSlam 2021, Becky Lynch returned after more than a year of absence to replace Carmella in the SmackDown Women’s Championship match against Bianca Belair and defeated ‘The EST’ in 26 seconds.

Two years later, in an interview with Metro, Bianca Belair stated that that moment at SummerSlam was the one in which she felt most embarrassed. She said, “26 seconds at SummerSlam—that’s the most embarrassed I’ve ever been. My parents were in the audience; they didn’t know what was going on. They had no idea what was happening. I felt really bad for them.”

The situation changed for her as time went by. At WrestleMania 38, she beat Becky Lynch to become champion again and get revenge on her. In addition, she defeated Lynch again at SummerSlam 2023. At the moment, she will have the opportunity to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside Jade Cargill for the second time on Bash in Berlin. So, do you think that she would be able to pull it off? Let us know in the comments.
