WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff also expressed deep regret and heartfelt emotions over the untimely passing of Bray Wyatt, whose real name was Windham Rotunda.

In a somber discussion on his podcast, “Strictly Business,” Bischoff shared his thoughts on the tragic loss and the missed opportunity he had to collaborate with the extraordinary Bray Wyatt.

Eric Bischoff regrets missed opportunity

The pro wrestling universe is mourning the loss of Bray Wyatt, a talent so unique that it may be a long time before we witness someone like him again. However, Eric Bischoff, no stranger to the wrestling world, acknowledged the unparalleled creativity and impact Wyatt had on the industry.

In a recent podcast interview with Jon Alba on ‘Strictly Business’ of the ’83 Weeks channel’, Eric poured out his emotions. Reflecting on Bray Wyatt’s passing, Bischoff expressed his deep sympathy for the Rotunda family/. While he didn’t have the chance to develop a close personal relationship with Bray, he did have profound respect for the man behind the character.

He said, “What the family’s going through. I cannot put myself in their shoes. I can’t do that. It hurts too much, to be honest, to try. And I pray for them: Mike Rotunda and the rest of his team. I don’t know Mike that well. We worked together briefly, and I had nothing but respect for him as a pro. But as a human being, I can’t fathom, and all I can do is say a prayer.” 

Bischoff deeply regretted not having the chance to work with Bray Wyatt during his brief WWE stint in 2019. Wyatt’s exclusive creative team meant very few, including Bischoff, had that privilege. He acknowledged this as his loss. Furthermore, he underscores the admiration and fond memories shared by those who had worked with Bray, highlighting his exceptional character.

He added, “You wouldn’t think that that was a character, just visually speaking, that would touch people the way it did. But it did. I wish I would have gotten to know him. It’s my loss.”

Bray Wyatt’s unique creativity made a lasting mark in wrestling. Bischoff acknowledged how rare and authentic Bray’s talent was, greatly missed in the industry. Despite Bray’s unconventional characters, they deeply connected with fans. Bischoff wished for a closer collaboration to tap into Bray’s special talent and personality.

In the wake of Wyatt’s passing, his longtime friend and teammate Rowan shared a poignant message on Twitter. They had forged a deep bond over their wrestling journey, evolving from colleagues to a true wrestling family.

Additionally, Rowan’s words conveyed the pain of losing not only a friend but also a part of their wrestling family. He expressed his love for Wyatt and another departed friend, Jon aka Luke Harper. This message served as a touching farewell, with the hope of a reunion down the road.
