Hulk Hogan had a storied wrestling career that earned him worldwide fame. However, the popularity has come at the cost of numerous injuries he has suffered over the years. As a result of this, he has undergone multiple surgeries. The ‘Hulkster’ once talked about how these surgeries have affected him. He also took a sly dig at those who call pro wrestling fake.

Hogan has gone under the knife more than a few times in his life to treating the various injuries he suffered during his wrestling days. Over the years, he has had surgeries on his knees, hips, and most notably, his back.

Hulk Hogan revealed many of his body parts have been replaced

Hulk Hogan was a pro wrestling icon during his WWE and WCW days. He was one of the few wrestlers who found tremendous success with two wrestling promotions in different eras. But all this did take a toll on the WWE Hall of Famer. Hogan has had 17 surgeries in the last decade alone.

In an interview in 2021, he revealed his struggles with multiple surgeries and how they had affected him.

He said, “I’ve had 17 surgeries over the last 10 years. My knees are fake, hips are fake, back is full of metal and part of my face is full of metal.”

He further said that despite wrestling being predetermined, it is a very physical sport. He explained, “I didn’t get the memo about the fake wrestling.”

The wrestler has had to undergo treatment for his eyes and nose as well.

Moreover, he stated that even his height has reduced due to his wrestling career and surgeries on his knees and back. Hogan’s most recent surgery took place at the end of 2019 and he got to lifting weights after only 7 weeks going against the doctor’s advice.

Indeed, pro wrestling is no soft sport, as demonstrated by the hardships Hogan had to endure. Not only this, pro wrestlers wrestle throughout the year and are more prone to injuries as compared to other sports. Many pro wrestlers have gone through career-ending injuries while competing in the ring.

It makes one respect the work they put in day and day out to entertain their fans around the globe.
