“My Divorce Did a Number on Me”: Dwayne Johnson Once Revealed Why He Married Lauren Hashian Despite Being Hesitant After First Divorce

Dwayne Johnson is one happy family man. He was initially married to Dany Garcia, but they got divorced in 2008. He has one daughter with Garcia, Simone Johnson, who is currently training at the WWE Performance Center. However, Garcia is a close friend of The Rock, and the two share a close relationship as business partners.

The Brahma Bull of WWE is currently happily married to longtime sweetheart, Lauren Hashian.

During an interview with the ‘Wall Street Journal’ dating back to 2019, he opened up about delaying his marriage to Hashian. The Rock said, “My divorce did a number on me. I wasn’t fearful of getting married again, there was just some hesitancy.” He further clarified how patient Hashian was with Johnson.

He further revealed his first thoughts about Hashian, when he first met her during the shooting of the movie ‘The Game Plan’. Johnson said, “Within 30 seconds, I thought, ‘Wow, this girl’s stunning.”  

Johnson married Lauren Hashian in 2019 at an intimate ceremony in Hawaii, away from the press and journalists. And declared that the quiet wedding was a success and a big win for him. The couple has two daughters together, one born in 2015 and the other in 2018.

It so happened that both, Johnson and Hashian were freshly out of their previous relationships. Thus, the actor felt it was ‘ironic’ that they met when they weren’t looking for a new relationship.

Dwayne Johnson gives an update on his Presidential run

Back in 2021, in an interview with Vanity Fair, Dwayne Johnson had shown his interest in running as The President of the United States of America. However, on a recent appearance on CBS’s ‘Sunday Morning’, Johnson gave the latest update on his run.

He said, “Yes. It is off the table.”

He further stated that he loved his country and people. But fatherhood was more important for him because he has two young daughters. Hence, he wanted to be present in their lives.

He further explained that he wanted to be there for his daughters and that is the reason he won’t be pursuing to be the POTUS anymore. Johnson stated how he was absent during a critical stage of his first daughter’s life. This was because of his schedule, and he does not want that happening to his younger daughters.
