Since turning heel, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has not portrayed his true feelings as often as he wanted to. Despite occasionally breaking his character for a promotional event of his businesses, The Rock has been stone cold. However, there is one subject that always brings Johnson to tears. On the Tonight Show, along with Roman Reigns, the Hollywood star saw an unscripted moment that brought up that touchy subject.
The Rock and Reigns were on the show to promote their match vs Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins at Mania XL. This would be the first time The Brahma Bull would step into the ring after eight years.

Dwayne Johnson has always been emotional about his father, Rocky Johnson. Despite having a turbulent relationship with him, The Rock credits his father for not just being his role model but also a trailblazer in the company. The Bloodline duo was on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon when a clip was played that caught The Final Boss off-guard. Taking to his Instagram, Johnson talked about the unscripted part.
The accompanying video in the post was the segment from the show. Fallon, without telling Johnson, played the clip from WrestleMania 13. Hardcore WWE fans will know this was Johnson’s first Mania match against The Sultan.
After the match, Bob Backlund and The Iron Sheik attacked The Rock, only to be saved by his father. On Instagram, he captioned the video, “This moved me. Didn’t expect to see this clip.”

The Rock went on to explain that, since his father’s passing in 2020, moments like these hold a special place for him. Despite all the emotions The Rock was feeling, he still got in one last dig at Cody Rhodes in true heel fashion.
The Rock still doesn’t care about Cody Rhodes’ story
The most important part of the interview was the discussion about their upcoming Mania match. To this, The Rock said, “I think Cody’s reading the wrong book at this point because we don’t care about his story.” This mirrors what Johnson said during his initial online rant about Rhodes’ story, but with more explicit language.

Reigns was quick to add to his cousin’s words. He said, “So this is where we close the book completely on this guy, Cody Rhodes.” Both The Rock and Reigns seem confident moving into Mania XL in Philadelphia. Who do you think will win?
