The RAW after WrestleMania was a special one. The episode opened with a long tribute to Cody Rhodes and the new era of WWE that he is supposed to lead. A tribute that was interrupted by none other than The Rock. The Final Boss came to announce that he was going to leave but that when he returned, it would be to take care of Rhodes. A threat not considered worrying by the new champion, who did not move a hair and assured that he would wait for him.

Before leaving the arena, the Brahma Bull took an object out of his pocket and placed it in Rhodes’s palm, assuring that he didn’t need to open his hand to see what it was because he already knew it. But this mystery has been haunting the WWE Universe ever since. And finally, the American Nightmare has given a hint as to what that mystery gift could be.

In the latest edition of the Busted Open Podcast, Cody Rhodes joined the hosts Dave LaGreca, Bully Ray, and Mark Henry. There, the Universal Champion talked about WrestleMania 40 as well as his feud with The Rock. And how can one talk about the feud without discussing the mystery gift? They asked Rhodes what it was, jokingly confirming if it was a dollar. And that was when Rhodes dropped a hint as to what he received.

He said, “It wasn’t a dollar. It was certainly more expensive than that. I tried to make a positive overture, an olive branch to The Rock in the Seven Bucks team. Because I have an immense respect for what they’ve done. They’ve set the table so that I can eat at it. He did not feel that that was a positive overture and handed it back to me. That’s the best I can give you, Bully.”

He further talked about how he was warned by Triple H that The Rock surely would be coming for him and that he should be careful. “But I was pretty heart-stricken over the fact that it came back. But if anything, again, like Triple H told me, it’s not fun and games for these guys. They’re coming for you. And you either get ready or you don’t.”

Something that is definitely more than a dollar and could fit in a pocket. Is Rhodes talking about the $15k watches he gifted to Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and the Brahma Bull? That surely can be the gift, for sure. However, they weren’t the only ones to receive gifts. Apart from the warning, Triple H also gifted Rhodes a Rolex that belonged to his father. A true example of the good bond The Game and The American Nightmare share. A relationship that Rhodes calls ‘Special’.

Since his return to WWE, Cody Rhodes has always had the support of the board. During his first few months, he was backed by Vince McMahon and, subsequently, by Triple H, who seems to be one of the main people responsible for Rhodes’ enormous success in WWE. During his recent appearance on Busted Open Radio, Cody Rhodes opened up about his relationship with Triple H, describing it as something very special. Rhodes likened his dynamic to the relationship between a coach and a player, where the coach gives the orders and the player executes them in the best possible way to move the team forward.

“Triple H and I have a really unique player-coach relationship, and I would never have imagined that he would order the plays and that I would be able to execute them. I feel like I’m firing on all cylinders.” When The Rock returned to WWE programming and attempted to take Cody Rhodes’ place at WrestleMania XL, Triple H became one of Rhodes’ main defenders. Despite being aware of TKO’s plans, The Rock, and their creative team, Triple H decided to give Rhodes the victory at the Royal Rumble. Confident that fans would back him up. And it surely worked. What do you think? Did Triple H place the right bet on Rhodes? Let us know in the comments.
