Last month, WWE dropped the biggest bomb in recent memory. The company announced that WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin will possibly wrestle in an in-ring match at the upcoming WrestleMania 38 in Texas.
Since this news, the WWE Universe went absolutely crazy. Now, for a match against Steve Austin, WWE chose the former Universal Champion, Kevin Owens. Interestingly, both the wrestlers have the same finish move: The Stunner.

However, the fans are a little upset about how the company is building up the feud between the Texas Rattlesnake and the Prizefighter. The fans on the internet are really mad at Austin too, because they don’t feel that Owens hating Texas is the main reason he’s coming back.
One fan absolutely listed out all the various feuds which directly involved the Rattlesnake after his retirement from WWE. The fan wrote about Goldberg, Randy Orton, John Cena, and CM Punk.
However, the fan is mad because the WWE is making him come back just because Kevin Owens doesn’t like Texas.
Goldberg in 2004? No.
CM Punk in 2012? Nope.
John Cena at any point ever? Nah.
But THIS.

One fan wrote that Austin is coming back only because of the money.

I have nothing against it being KO, but they couldn't have come up with something better than "Texas sucks. I hate Texas."?

One fan remembered the backstage segment between Punk and Austin in the early 2010s.
Honestly 2011 CM Punk should’ve brought Austin out of retirement. That backstage segment they did was awesome. They very easily could’ve main-evented WM and made lots of money.

One Texas fan admitted that this buildup is awful and the company could’ve used a different route to attract heat.
It's not complaining about him coming back at all. He's awesome! It's the dumb build up for it. They could've chosen from so many other things that would actually mean something or draw heat. This is coming from a lifelong Texan. We know it sucks.

One fan used an image from SpongeBob SquarePants to show what made Austin come back to wrestling.
This right here is what broke him pic.twitter.com/YhTzSjMxBP

Fans noted that what Owens is saying is childish, and it doesn’t fit well with the audience.
Can't believe all they could think of, for the reason Austin returns is KO starts saying grade school level insults about Texas for no reason out of nowhere.

They even claim it as the “weakest” way to build up a WrestleMania match.

I love Kevin Owens but this is not it. This is forced. He’s not big enough of a star. CM Punk/Cena/Hogan/Goldberg but now it’s…KO?? 🤦🏻♂️

How do you screw up KO vs Austin? Would have been better if they announced it, done nothing, and just rolled the match out.

WWE has still not officially announced Stone Cold Steve Austin for WrestleMania
Yes, the Texas Rattlesnake coming back inside the squared circle is a big deal. Austin’s last match in WWE was way back in 2003 when he wrestled his long-time rival, The Rock at WrestleMania 19.

Now, the fans are having mixed reactions to Austin’s comeback. The WWE maybe can tweak the current storyline of Kevin Owens. Although the match is not officially announced, Owens has taken cheeky shots on Texas, indicating Austin’s arrival.
