Mocking His Famous Pec Dance, Dwayne Johnson Could Be AEW Star’s Next Target, After Hulk Hogan

Dwayne Johnson is no stranger to CM Punk. Despite their iconic feud in 2013, it is widely known that the duo are friends in real life. But Punk has been pretty vocal about a laundry list of people he doesn’t like. Although Dwayne Johnson isn’t in it, he was recently mocked by the Straight Edge superstar.

CM Punk is infamous for being unapologetically himself. He speaks his mind and beats his own drum. And after making his controversial return, he stirred things up again after mocking the Immortal Hulk Hogan. So, is The Rock next?

CM Punk takes a subtle dig at Dwayne Johnson by doing this

Punk made his return by cutting a scathing promo by constantly reiterating “Tell me when I’m telling lies”. And if you think Punk is staying away from controversies now, you may be wrong. During a recent 8-man tag team match at Collison, Punk mocked Hulk Hogan by using his Big Boot and The Leg Drop. 

It’s also worth noting that Punk does not put any respect on Hogan’s name as he once called him a “piece of sh*t”. Furthermore, the former AEW World Champion directed his taunts at Dwayne Johnson during a match at Forbidden Door. 

Punk faced off with Satoshi Kojima in the Owen Hart Foundation tournament. After a hard-fought battle, the Second City Saint advanced in the tournament. However, during the match, Punk popped his pecs repeatedly, alluding to a dig at Dwayne Johnson. 

Dwayne Johnson has been seen popping his pecs multiple times in WWE. Moreover, in the movie Journey 2, The Rock did a funny scene where he had berries hitting and bouncing off of his chest as he did the pec dance. Although Punk did not directly indicate that it was directed at The Rock, it was enough for wrestling fans to assume.

It will be interesting to see who is next on CM Punk’s list. Interestingly, CM Punk once took shots at both Dwayne Johnson and Hulk Hogan in the same promo.

CM Punk once criticized Dwayne Johnson and Hulk Hogan in WWE

2011 was a turning point in CM Punk’s career. He was involved in a feud with John Cena. But it was his infamous worked-shoot promo that catapulted his career in WWE. 

On an edition of Raw, Punk cost Cena a match against R-Truth and made his way to the ramp. A vintage Punk then sat cross-legged with a microphone in his hand. The Chicago native then addressed his problems with John Cena and accused him of “kissing Vince McMahon’s as*”. He further compared that attribute of Cena with Hulk Hogan and Dwayne Johnson. 

He said, “You’re as good at kissing Vince’s as* as Hulk Hogan was. I don’t know if you’re as good as Dwayne though, he is a pretty good as* kisser. Always was and still is.”

The intense promo spawned CM Punk’s Voice of the Voiceless character and the rest is history. Nevertheless, CM Punk suffered an embarrassing defeat at the hands of The Rock and lost his WWE Championship to The Great One at Royal Rumble 2013.
