Before heading out to the ring, every wrestler has a pre-entrance routine. Everyone has something, whether they limber up, hype themselves up in front of the mirror, or shake off their nerves. Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson had been on a fiery streak since his return to the company. In the build-up to his feud against Cody Rhodes, he nailed every promo in the ring. So, what did he do before heading to the ring? Now, after the temporary end to the feud, we get an answer.
The Rock took on the persona of The Final Boss as he turned heel during his feud. However, fans were not happy with him breaking his heel character to promote certain products until his recent post.

As mentioned above, fans were irked whenever Johnson would break his heel persona online to promote his new men’s skincare lineup, Papatui. However, his most recent post on social media showed his Final Boss persona promoting the product. This was a massive surprise as he’s always been a babyface when promoting it on social media despite breaking kayfabe. Taking to social media, Johnson posted a video with the caption, “Minutes before SHOWTIME & going LIVE.” This was before he appeared on SmackDown on March 1, 2024.

Unlike his previous social media promotion material for Papatui, he was in Final Boss mode. He continued with rather colorful words in his post. In the video, he showcased how he used his men’s skincare line before going out to the ring. While fans would argue that this was just Johnson keeping in character, it is important to note that this was the first time The Final Boss promoted the product. More often than not, babyface Johnson does it with a smile and a calm voice. However, while his time in the WWE is over, he will be returning, and so will his Final Boss persona.

While Johnson left WWE to film his upcoming movie, he said he would be gunning for Rhodes’ title when he returned. Fans believed he would reunite with Roman Reigns and The Bloodline, but that storyline has developed into something no one expected. With Solo Sikoa taking the group’s reins and Reigns nowhere to be found, the dynamics of the faction have certainly changed.
The Rock is rumored to return ahead of SummerSlam in August. Coincidentally, this could be when Reigns returns as well. Fans are excited at the possible babyface turn for Reigns and the term up with Rhodes. Could Johnson be pulling the strings of The Bloodline? Will he win the title for another championship run?
