Mick Foley Reveals Why He Respects Hulk Hogan Despite the Latter’s Hurtful Comments About the Hardcore Legend’s Body – “Even When I Didn’t Like Him..”

Hulk Hogan and Mick Foley, the two WWE Hall of Famers have never faced each other inside the ring. However last year, they were in the news for a war between them, the war of words. Their exchange of brutal words made fans believe that both legends are not a fan of each other.

However, the speculation seems to be untrue as a video of Mick Foley has come forward. In the video, Foley is explaining why he respects Hulk Hogan despite his hurtful comments about him.

Mick Foley explains why he respects Hulk Hogan

In an episode of his podcast, ‘Foley is Pod’, the WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley highlighted a similarity between WWE legend Hulk Hogan and 16-time world champion John Cena that made him respect the WWE legend. 

The WWE Hall of Famer revealed that Hulk Hogan is a good person outside the ring who has helped a lot of people. Foley also mentioned that the ‘Hulkster’ made several hundred kids’ wishes come true through WWE’s Make-A-Wish foundation just like John Cena, and it has earned him his respect.

Talking about the similarity between Hulk Hogan and John Cena, Mick Foley said, “I think Hulkster’s a good….. good guy who’s done a lot to help people and even when I didn’t like him, I would always go back to Shane Douglas telling me about his first run in WWE and how the Make-A-Wish kids would be around Hogan. He said and these kids would just be beaming and so whatever else anyone thinks about Hulk, I as long as he’s the guy that brought joy into the hearts and we’re not talking about a few people they were talking about hundreds and hundreds of children maybe not John Cena levels but here’s a guy he brought a lot of joy into people’s lives and I always respect him for that.”

In his podcast, the former Monday Night Raw general manager was clearly showing the respect he has for Hulk Hogan in his heart. But if you know about the war of words between them, then you must know this was not the case always.

The war between Foley and Hogan

Even though Foley and Hogan never faced each other inside the ring, still in the early 2000s, there was a war of words going on between them. Hulk Hogan disrespected Mick Foley saying that he’d trained more in the last week than Foley did in three decades.

To this, the former Raw general manager replied that Hogan should contact the wrestlers who has faced him inside the ring. That initiated a war of words between them. However, everything is fine now and both legends maintain mutual respect.
