Recently, the former WWE superstar was featured in an interview with ESPN. The media house asked Sasha Banks about her thoughts on joining WWE. She claimed that this was a decision that she took after critical consideration and that money was a big factor in it.
“Money changes everything. I’m always about that bag. Absolutely,” said Banks in this interview. However, this wasn’t where the reasons ended. The Boston-based wrestler added, “You can do so much more in AEW – you can do everything. And for me, I want to do everything. So, this is the place for me to be, and this is the place that I call home.”
A few days ago, despite her AEW appearance, there were still ongoing rumors of Banks returning to WWE. This was because of her ties with her former co-workers who are still in the Stamford-based company. This is when a pro wrestling industry veteran urged her to give Tony Khan a chance.
‘The CEO’ reportedly had a high asking price before signing a contract, presumably resulting in her failed deal with WWE. However, she ended up getting the desired amount in AEW as it seems. But a former WWE star believes the reason could be something other than her skills.

Sasha Banks gets ‘Hollywood treatment’
On the 92nd episode of Story Time with Dutch Mantell, the host talked about Sasha Banks’ AEW debut. The co-host revealed that Mercedes Mone usually has a high paycheck demand when signing a contract. He then proceeded to tell him about the deal that she secured in Japan. Considering that she had a similar or higher demand after coming back to the US, this would sum up that Tony Khan was able to meet her demand better than WWE.
Mantell believes that this is not just because of her skill but because of the ins and outs that she has in the industry due to her familial connections with Snoop Dogg.
