In a quick turn of events, Sasha Banks joined AEW. Despite the rumors suggesting that she will come back to continue her gimmick where she left off in WWE, the former IWGP Women’s Champion ended up signing a contract with Tony Khan. The reason behind the same was speculated to have been the money that AEW was offering her.
Recently, Becky Lynch was asked about the same situation. Rather than saying something bad about her former rival, the Irish woman ended up supporting Mercedes Mone as a fellow female wrestler in a male-dominated industry.

After her AEW debut, WON eventually reported that Sasha Banks’ contract deal was enough to make her the highest-paid woman in the pro wrestling industry. The promotion was also reportedly happy about offering her this contract and was glad that she had accepted this deal.
The Man talked to Orlando Sentinal recently. When she was asked to talk about Banks’ AEW contract being a high-paying one, Lynch replied, “I think that’s an important part, getting paid equally for the equal work and the equal position we are at right now.”
Becky Lynch claimed that even though there have been revolutions and movements to bring equality among men and women, if contracts like these are not regulated properly, then the wage gap will birth the same thing that women have been fighting for, for so many years.
Earlier, there was a WWE legend who claimed that Sasha Banks received such a high-paying contract partly because of her connections to Hollywood because of her cousin Snoop Dogg.
Although Mone didn’t confirm whether this was true, she did clear out the reason for choosing AEW over her former workplace.

Sasha Banks confirmed why she signed with Tony Khan instead of WWE
Ever since the wrestling superstar left WWE, the management of the company has reportedly changed a lot. So, the reason that Banks didn’t return to the Stamford-based company did not lie in the management itself. Rather, there were reports that the promotion did not offer Banks the contract that she desired. On the contrary, Tony Khan did exactly that.
So, in an interview with ESPN, Sasha Banks revealed that one of the factors that motivated her to join AEW was the money that they offered. The Boston-based wrestler claimed, “Money changes everything. I’m always about that bag.”
