Days after completing the TKO merger, which saw the WWE and UFC come together to form a unified $21.4 billion brand, the WWE has surprised their fans with a massive signing. Recently, the Stamford-based company has acquired the services of Jade Cargill, who was the most dominant champion at the rival AEW for over 500 days.

Needless to say, Cargill’s signing has made a part of the WWE Universe excited, who are now awaiting her debut. But do you know, she’s not the only sportsperson in her family. In fact, her husband has had a glorious career in baseball. Let’s find out more about him.

Before naming the player, let’s lay out some stats for you and see if you can guess the name. Okay, so, he’s a three-time MLB All-Star player, who has won the prestigious Gold Glove Award four times. In addition to this, this 42-year-old has won the Silver Slugger Award once- awarded to the best offensive players in the MLB annually- in 2011.

Time for the reveal- it’s Brandon Phillips. Yes, the second baseman who played in Major League Baseball for 17 seasons- from 2002 to 2018. Phillips debuted with the Cleveland Indians in September 2002 and played his last game in a Boston Red Sox jersey in 2018.

In between he played for the Cincinnati Reds, Atlanta Braves, and Los Angeles Angels. All his aforementioned accomplishments came during his stint with the Reds, where he played from 2006 to 2016.

Phillips hit 211 home runs in his MLB career, finishing with a batting average of .275 and 951 runs from 2,029 hits.

Meanwhile, the couple have a daughter together, Bailey Quinn Phillips, who was born in 2017 as per reports.

Cargill and Phillips own a team in Women’s Professional Fastpitch, a fastpitch softball league played professionally by women in the United States.

They are owners of the Texas Smoke, which won the championship series this year.

Before the start of the season, Cargill appeared confident about her team’s performance. “Aw baby. I’m so happy for us. We are going to kill this season,” she had replied on Instagram on a post her husband had uploaded pictures from the WPD Draft.
