John Cena had a match on the last episode of SmackDown in 2022 after 475 days. He won the match, but fans are wondering whether he will have a match at WrestleMania 39 or not.
There are plans and a couple of top names for ‘The Cenation Leader’ to face as the grandest stage. Surprisingly, one particular star was Vince McMahon’s choice as Cena’s opponent at WrestleMania 39, before he retired from WWE.

Recently, Fightful Select, shared a report regarding some of the future plans WWE had before Mr.McMahon retired. As per the report, WWE had plans for Cena to face Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 39.
The report stated, “There had actually been pitches within the company at that point for Cody Rhodes vs. John Cena, but we haven’t heard that discussed since the regime change.” Moreover, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select shared a tweet stating the same.

The American Nightmare returned to WWE at WrestleMania 38 in 2022. He became the first superstar to jump ship from AEW to WWE, when the company was under McMahon‘s regime.
Irrespective of that, Vinnie-Mac was ready to take the big step and put Rhodes against Cena at the showcase of immortals. Hence, this news has made several people in the wrestling world excited.

As Sapp shared the news, on Twitter, the WWE Universe and also the AEW fans went berserk. It shocked them that Vince McMahon was ready to put an ex-AEW star against Cena in the ring.

Will Cena have a match at WrestleMania 39?
WrestleMania is coming to Hollywood in three months from now. With huge names like The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin rumored to appear at Mania, Cena might not make it.
As per Wrestling Observer, The Cenation Leader will be in Melbourne, Australia to film his upcoming movie ‘Ricky Stanicky’. The movie will take at least two months to film and the WWE legend might get to train for the match.
