Despite being at the company for over ten years across two runs, Cody Rhodes is yet to win a World title in WWE. In fact, no one from his family has ever done so, though they have held secondary titles on multiple occasions. It is the crux of his gimmick as he continues on his journey to ‘finish the story’ and win a world title. But after last year’s failure at WrestleMania, it has now become meme material for many WWE fans. Now, WWE has now tried to build upon it, as displayed in their recent video.
WWE’s recent video mocks Cody Rhodes’ American dream
WrestleOps, a wrestling account, took to X on January 16th to post a snippet of a clip from WWE with the caption, “Kid: So you’re a champion…?
Cody Rhodes: ‘Look, I’m still on that journey.
Kid: Maybe one day kid.

It was a taunt towards Cody Rhodes who is yet to win a major World title in WWE. It was the template upon which WWE planted last year’s WrestleMania as Rhodes took on Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Championship, but failed. He has another chance this year with Royal Rumble just a few days away and Elimination Chamber a few weeks.
However, the path is more difficult this year considering the return of CM Punk, The Rock, and Randy Orton, all top-tier contenders to main event WrestleMania. But only time will tell if WWE will allow Rhodes to finish his story this year. Regardless, WWE continues on their path to finish multiple unfinished stories running in parallel.
Cody Rhodes and Bianca Belair feature in WWE’s latest promo video
The clip in reference is originally from a 5-minute video uploaded by WWE on their official YouTube channel on January 16th. The video is uploaded for promotional purposes as WWE tries to communicate its recent development with the WWE Universe. The video features former WWE Women’s Champion Bianca Belair and The American Nightmare, Cody Rhodes.

Despite the serious message behind the video, the video has a comical tone. Hence, young kids portray the role of WWE board members who perform an annual assessment of WWE’s performance on the community front. In essence, it is a video communicating WWE’s CSR activities to its audience.
The list includes making 100+ wishes for the Make-A-Wish foundation, special shows dedicated to the US troops, and appearances in special events like Special Olympics and Pride month. Rhodes also made a special announcement that the WWE Universe will now be known as WWE Impact.
