While the demise of on-screen performers hit the fans harder, the wrestlers themselves can be equally heartbroken by the passing of a family member within the pro wrestling fraternity. Dakota Kai, an icon in women’s wrestling, found support this week as she dealt with a truly heart-wrenching loss.

Kai was last seen on our screens celebrating the championship victory of her fellow stablemate, Iyo Sky at SummerSlam. While jubilant for her friend, behind the scenes things things have been far from rosy. Many know Kai as the energetic Robin to Raquel Rodriguez’s Batman back in NXT. However, this week she finds herself mourning a death in the family.

Dakota Kai shares a touching post of a loved one who recently passed

Dakota Kai has been sidelined due to an injury currently. The star revealed in the press conference post SummerSlam that she is still some way away from being cleared to compete after her torn ACL injury. During this time off the former tag team champion took to social media to share pictures of her beloved nana who tragically passed away.

Taking to her Instagram, Kai recently posted an image of her and her nana. The picture showed Kai showing images to her Nana on her phone, which saw her smiling. The caption was, “Will love you and miss you always, Nana.”

This immediately led to prayers and support from fellow WWE superstars. The support from the community was also visible as fans shared their condolences. With over 22,000 likes on the post and comments still rolling in, Kai has enormous support. WWE fans have their way of expressing their support on social media.
