While he was being the ‘Eater of the Worlds’ and ‘The Fiend’, there were many fantasy matches made by fans between him and the supernatural gimmick wrestlers of other companies. Most notably, ‘Broken’ Matt Hardy and Willow The Wisp.
WWE had plans for ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt vs Jeff Hardy as Willow the Wisp
On the recent episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy #20 podcast, the elder Hardy brother made a shocking reveal. He stated about there were plans for Broken Matt Hardy and Willow The Wisp Jeff Hardy to join The Fiend.
Matt Hardy said, “They said, ‘what if we did something now where Bray is doing something as a Fiend and people are trying to stop him and then all of the sudden there’s an appearance of a very hardcore Matt Hardy that shows up and then like this Willow the Wisp that or hardcore Jeff Hardy shows up. Then they like squash these guys out and run them off or whatever and save the Fiend, but they are very serious characters. “
He added, “But then the talk show where Bray is the Mr. Rodgers and he is talking to all the kids and he’s having the show. Then Broken Matt shows up and then Willow The Wisp shows up, and they are part of the show as well.”
We all are aware of how successful Jeff Hardy was in TNA as Willow The Wisp. It was a creative Dark Incarnation of Jeff Hardy which would have been perfect with The Fiend in WWE. Also, the Broken Matt Hardy gimmick would have been a talk force of this group, as Bray Wyatt and Jeff Hardy never spoke much as Willow and Fiend.

It is extremely rare for WWE to show interest in the gimmicks which are portrayed outside the company. However, there are some characters Mr. McMahon knows will make substantial money. Therefore, he has given a green signal for them on WWE TV.
Vince McMahon killed two of the hottest acts in professional wrestling
Matt Hardy claims Vince McMahon didn’t like the Broken gimmick as he did not create it. This is the reason the Broken Matt Hardy gimmick failed in WWE. He recalled a conversation with former WWE tag team champion Karl Anderson saying.
Anderson said to Hardy, “Can you believe it, Matt? The only promoter in all of the world that could kill off two of the hottest acts in the world of wrestling, The Bullet Club and Broken Matt Hardy, is Vince McMahon, and do it within one calender year.”
