The Hardy Brothers are not a part of WWE anymore but still are known popularly for their time inside it. Both of them left WWE to eventually join AEW for more in-ring action. The passion kept them going. However, things didn’t turn out to be that smooth for either of the brothers. Matt Hardy even publicly mentioned the problems he faced with AEW.

There was an ideological clash between Hardy and Tony Khan. When the stable ‘Hardy Family Office’ was finalized, both of them had different plans. As per Matt Hardy, everything would still be going great if they hadn’t followed Khan’s plan.

Matt Hardy regrets what happened to his HFO gimmick

According to the elder Hardy, their group was going as perfectly as it could. However, this perfection was not carried through and eventually, the team collapsed the next year of its formation. In his very own podcast, The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, episode number 62 on YouTube, Hardy took a few moments out of his time to talk about this issue.

Wrestling fans were met with confusion after the team was discontinued. But for Hardy, it was not much of a shock. He saw it coming, but couldn’t do much about the issue.

We actually got pretty hot at that point with the six-man tags we were doing as heels with Big Money Matt. I really feel like we had a lot of momentum. We were doing well and we would have continued to elevate as a trios tag until we started adding people,” said the former WWE star. The real reason why the team started adding people was that AEW’s president saw it as a great idea. However, the team eventually became too chaotic for people to handle and fans lost interest, leading to dismemberment.

Matt Hardy’s current AEW run

The wrestler is still reportedly signed with AEW. However, ever since the team was dismantled, people see the vacancy as problematic. That wasn’t much of a problem for Hardy because he had experience in tag wrestling alongside his brother.

This idea was also scraped since Jeff Hardy was suspended over a DUI case. The wrestler can be seen performing solo as well as trio matches in the absence of his beloved brother.
