Matt Hardy made his surprise return to TNA on April 20, 2024, at Rebellion. He brought back his “broken” gimmick and attacked the then-TNA World Champion Moose. On the June 14 episode of Against All Odds, Moose defeated Hardy for the title. After the match, Hardy’s brother Jeff Hardy returned to TNA to help Broken Matt from a post-match attack by Moose. It’s been a short while since Jeff Hardy’s return to TNA. Still, the latter was already seen as a threat by System, the powerful stable consisting of Alisha Edwards, Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers, and Moose, who currently hold numerous belts in the federation.

The group hired JDC (formerly known as Fandango in WWE) as a “hitman,” as he injured Jeff Hardy and Rebecca Hardy under the orders of System. So the last member of the Hardy family, Matt Hardy, took his revenge at TNA’s PPV Slammiversary by defeating JDC. Now that his storyline here has been on hold for a while, what’s next for the WWE legend? Since Matt Hardy claims that he is a free agent despite working for TNA, the pro wrestling universe is abuzz with speculations about him joining WWE again. In fact, Matt Hardy too has hinted that he has his eyes set on a WWE title that he wishes to win once he marks his return!

As we mentioned before, Jeff Hardy was taken out by JDC, and he is yet to recover and make a return to TNA. But when he does, Matt Hardy plans to book them for the TNA tag titles. He even took to Twitter to announce his thoughts, saying, “Whenever my brother is medically cleared, we will be coming for the TNA Tag Titles. NOTHING WILL STOP US.” This prompted WWE NXT tag team champion Nathan Frazer to remind Hardy that he could also go for the WWE tag titles if he wanted. “Those aren’t the only titles you can come for…” A plan that Hardy definitely agreed with, as he quickly replied to Frazer’s tweet by simply saying “NOTED…” while uploading a GIF of the Hardy Boyz return from WrestleMania at WrestleMania 33.

Well, it surely looks like the Hardy Boyz are planning to make another return to the WWE and take the NXT tag titles away from Axiom and Frazer. But seeing that Matt Hardy’s current storyline with System hasn’t completely ended, they might go for the TNA tag titles first. Especially because the tag titles are held by System’s Eddie Edwards and Brian Myers. Until the Charismatic Enigma returns, Hardy is keeping himself busy with other special appearances, one of which even hints at him being a part of SummerSlam.

Is Matt Hardy's return to WWE the spark SummerSlam needs to be unforgettable?

Have an interesting take?

The former WWE and AEW wrestler will make his GCW debut at the company’s ‘Now And Forever’ in August. GCW announced that Hardy will compete at the Aug. 2 show in Cleveland, Ohio, during the weekend of WWE’s SummerSlam! This surely cannot be a coincidence. To date, Hardy’s opponent has yet to be named. But with this appearance on CGW, he joins the list of other wrestlers who will soon appear in the promotion.

In total, there will be four WWE Superstars who will be on GCW Bloodsport. The Creed Brothers will appear on GCW Bloodsport on July 28, wrestling separately, at the same event. Former NXT champion Shayna Baszler will face Miyu Yamashita. It will be the second time that Baszler fights for this company. During the weekend of WrestleMania XL, Baszler, accompanied by Zoey Stark, already defeated Masha Slamovich. NXT superstar Charlie Dempsey will also be on the show. But surely all eyes would be on Hardy, at GCW as well as WWE, as we hope that he makes his much-awaited return. What do you think? Will the Hardy Boyz return at SummerSlam?
