Did Uncle Howdy's debut ruin the mystique of Bray Wyatt's storyline for you?

Uncle Howdy had his in-ring debut on Monday Night Raw 08/26 against Chad Gable. There were some spots in the match worth your attention, but there were also some things that WWE should improve upon as per Tommy Dreamer. The former WWE talent sat to share his opinion on the Busted Open Podcast.

According to him, the presentation of the match could have been made much better than it was. While this opinion may not reach the team responsible for the light coordination, it is still something that you may want to know about as a fan.

Uncle Howdy gave Chad Gable a run for his money along with the rest of his ‘American Made’ stable. Contrary to the rest of the promos that the Wyatt Sicks have cut up until now, the lighting during the match was very different. Much like the usual matches, all the lights were on at all times except the beginning entry and the victory celebration.

Tommy Dreamer said, “There’s a different feel when all the lights are on and you’re watching him perform.” He also added later, “If they had just a spotlight on it, cause then everyone would light up on their phones. It’s such a different feel.

According to him, if the match had different lightings, the overall tone may have gotten an overhaul. This is similar to the criticism that the Wyatt Sicks received when they first had their debut promo. However, on the positive side of things, there were also spots worth noticing.

Uncle Howdy gave a tribute to his brother

Have an interesting take?

There are fan theories on the internet that Bo Dallas is not ‘possessed’ but rather Uncle Howdy is an alternate personality that he adopted to cope with his brother’s loss. As a result, he is still deeply affected by the fact that he is no longer here. To help him remember him in good memory, Uncle Howdy paid some tributes to Bray Wyatt. For example, during his in-ring debut, the leader of the Wyatt Sicks was wearing a gauntlet that was made out of the last remnants of Bray Wyatt’s wrestling gear. This was confirmed by the announcers themselves and was an emotional bit of information.

Moreover, Howdy also used the ‘Sister Abigail’ signature move to lay down Chad Gable and pin him for a three-count victory. This signature move was another callback to the time when Bray Wyatt was still around on the main roster. And most of all, the name of the stable itself is a tribute to the memory of the late and great wrestler that the world lost last year. The in-ring debut may not have hit the right spot for Tommy Dreamer and some other fans as well, but people learn from their mistakes and possibly there will be improvement in presentation when we see someone from The Wyatt Sicks competing again.
