Wrestle Features posted on October 23rd on X a picture of CM Punk with AEW Championship and a caption, “CM Punk was backstage at the recent TNA/IMPACT Tapings in Chicago. Punk talked to anyone who wanted to get “some time with him.”

They reported that CM Punk appeared backstage at the recent episode of Impact Wrestling for AXS TV Tapings on October 22nd. The event was held at Cicero Stadium where Punk arrived just before 6:30 PM CST, just before the tapings began.

He arrived just before the tapings began to avoid media attention and scrutiny. Punk had already familiarized himself with the surroundings of Impact in since he made a similar visit in April when he was still with AEW.

Punk met several Impact performers backstage and spent time talking to them, including top talents in between tapings. He offered himself to anyone who wanted to get some time with him. It did not faze the talent as they had met Punk earlier, so they were used to his presence.

However, it is known that Punk did not get much time to spend with his long-time friends from ROH and AEW. Despite making an appearance backstage, rumors suggested that Punk would make an appearance for the promotion during a PPV.

The former AEW star was rumored to appear at Bound for Glory PPV

Punk’s friend Ace Steel (Chris Guy) was called upon by Impact Wrestling to work as a full-time producer. His first stint at Impact was on October 21st, with Bound for Glory PPV. Fans speculated that with Steel’s arrival as a producer meant that Punk might also make an appearance as a wrestler.

But Impact later clarified the situation by stating, “I don’t believe they are using Ace to get to the heart of CM Punk, as they initially wanted to bring Steel in during the time period he was fired from AEW and Punk was still contracted to AEW. I think it was wanting to bring in a producer who was good at his job, nothing more.
