Has WWE dropped the ball with Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan's feud ahead of SummerSlam?

A few days ago on Monday Night RAW, Liv Morgan interacted with Dominik backstage, expressing her concern about how Rhea Ripley has been treating him since his return. Dominik Mysterio assured that his relationship with ‘Mami’ is fine. Later, the drama moved to the ring, where Dominik Mysterio was forced to choose. He and Ripley made their entrance into the ring with The Brutality, inviting Liv Morgan to come and get Dirty Dom. The women’s champion appeared but shielded herself from the audience.

Liv Morgan said that Dominik wants to be with women like her, not with women like Rhea Ripley. That infuriated Ripley, who then tried to get out of the ring in search of Luv Morgan. However, Dominik stopped her and began cursing at Liv Morgan, claiming that he hated her. That made Rhea Ripley happy and made Liv Morgan very sad, who left the stands in tears. While this moment was supposed to be a redemption for Ripley, according to a WWE veteran, the segment might’ve backfired. Instead of making fans root for ‘Mami’, it might’ve turned Morgan into a babyface for many.

The legendary manager took to his podcast ‘Story Time with Dutch Mantell‘ to discuss every recent happening in the pro wrestling industry. With the major focus point being the current WWE storylines, especially the one between Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley. The feud was set to turn Ripley babyface as she returns from her injury and takes revenge against Morgan. The WWE superstar took Ripley’s title after injuring her and now also stole Dominik Mysterio. However, according to Mantell, the recent segment saw Morgan walk out as the babyface instead.

He said, “Rhea Ripley. They might turn out to be the heels in this. Because if you say I’m a new fan, and I’m tuning in, and I’m watching Liv talk to Dom, and he does cusses her out, and she starts crying. Where is your who do you feel sorry for? Because it feels like Rhea and Dominic are teaming up on hers. So, in and just watching this interview, I’m not taking into account anything that’s happened in the past. But I think that little Liv turned out to be the babyface in that. I mean, I felt for her more than I felt for Dom.”

He added, “But I think Liv is crossing that threshold of being a baby face, and Dom and Rhea are crossing that line going back the other way.” Well, now that Morgan might’ve turned babyface, it would be interesting to see who the fans will root for as the two square off at SummerSlam. A match that Liv Morgan claims will be the biggest match of her life. At least, so far in her pro wrestling career.

She said, “This is the biggest match of my career. I mean, we are talking about Rhea Ripley. I am not going to discredit her. When I was away [with an injury], I saw her at the very forefront of the division, the face of the company — not men or women — the face of the company in general.” Morgan further added, “I hated it… For her to laugh at it and mock me and not give it a single thought, and then for me to come back and be dismissed, and her to not even think there wouldn’t be anything up my sleeve? I am so excited for SummerSlam to prove everyone wrong and prove myself right and complete [the] Liv Morgan Revenge Tour.”

The rivalry between Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan has been building since 2022 when the former betrayed the blonde and later joined The Judgment Day. Now, with Dominik Mysterio in the middle, it remains to be seen how this fight will develop. What do you think? Who will win the feud? Do you think Mysterio would turn his back on Ripley at the mega event? Let us know in the comments.
