Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock doesn’t take a break from hustling. The man always has one project, if not more, lined up at all times. And this time, it’s a Christmas movie but with a twist!

During an interview with Collider, Hiram Garcia spoke about Dwayne Johnson’s upcoming movie. He revealed that while it was a Christmas movie, it was different from the usual Christmas movies the fans are used to.

It has a similar theme as Johnson’s other movies like Hobbs & Shaw and also Marvel’s Guardian of the Galaxy. Essentially, the niche is going to have mythological elements with considerable action.

“You’re dealing with crazy mythological elements, turning a lot of tropes we know about the holidays on their head, but also really big action and globe-trotting.” H/t Collider

Moreover, Hiram Garcia revealed that the movie that Dwayne Johnson is working on is completely unique. He talked about how no one has made a movie like this before.

Dwayne Johnson may never revive his role in the Fast and Furious franchise

Even though the new movie The Rock is working on is going to have a similar feel to Hobbs & Shaw, Johnson may never revive the role of Luke Hobbs in the Fast and Furious franchise.

He left the franchise after doing a couple of movies. Reportedly, he had a fall out with lead actor Vin Diesel. Now, even though Diesel took to social media to ask Johnson to revive the role for the tenth film of the series, The Rock found that manipulative.

It was one of the iconic roles The Rock took in during his Hollywood career. Undoubtedly, he could have made the tenth film something considerably bigger since John Cena is also a part of the franchise now.

The Rock could revive another character in the future

Now, Johnson made it clear that Luke Hobbs isn’t coming back. But, what about The Brahma Bull? The Great One himself?

If all goes well, The Rock could make a WWE return in 2022, even if it’s for one PPV.

And while a long term commitment is not possible, The Rock can definitely have one or two WWE appearances this year.
