There is nothing more amazing than a lucky encounter with some of your favorite wrestlers. Many times, fans have posted photos and selfies taken at airports and restaurants with wrestlers. This is one of the best experiences. But everything has its limits, even these interactions. Something that Rey Mysterio made plainly clear.
Bothering wrestlers in a public place, especially airports, can be exhausting for the stars. A normal schedule for a wrestler is already filled with flying to many cities or countries all year round. So, pushing them for something more is rude and disrespectful to the wrestler who is already giving their all to entertain us in the ring. It is completely in their right to decline, just like Mysterio did recently with this fan.

The fact that there is a stack of merchandise with him is highly suspicious of their behavior.
Bothering people at the airport with racks of merch to sign is SO low class

This is misleading. He was talking about signing all of that so they can just resell and make money off of it. He signed a few but when it was obvious scalpers (ex: the one with stacked empty Funko boxes) he denied.

Did one of them say he'd been watching Rey since the 80s? That's funny considering Rey Mysterio was like a teenager for most of the 80s and had his big American debut in like 95. But please, let him know what a huge fan you are my guy.

Rey isn’t a legend in the wrestling business for no reason.
💯 and they are lucky that Rey kept it real and was respectful.

Flying every week is tiring ,and everyone needs a good rest sometimes.
Seriously why bother wrestlers at the airport? They're tired, jetlagged and are just waiting to get either get home or get on their next flight, having flown around quite a bit in my day, it's not fun, flying sucks and you're hoping your luggage is still there and lots of waiting

Making your favorite wrestlers who are already tired and want to relax, do something for you seems weird as well.
Maybe I’m alone in this but, I’ve never been big on autographs. If I meet someone I’m a massive fan of and I decide to approach them I’m good with just telling them how much I love their shit and keep it at that. Autographs are just weird to me.

Mysterio has always had a good head over his shoulders and he treated his situation perfectly.
Rey handled this great! Signed one for a fan, but has zero obligation to sign 373838 things for that person.

Thats it!! Media tells the story "Rey not signing ", when it's actually "Rey not signing for ppl bringing a bazillion things to sign to make money off"…

While people were quick to defend Mysterio, some people still criticize him for not adhering to the fans request. Just to leave you on a positive note; The Undertaker was also asked a bizarre request by a fan in a restaurant, months after his official retirement. Not only was The Deadman a good sport, but he also gave his fans an iconic video outside of WWE.
