The Tribal Chief is currently riding high as a mighty force in the promotion. Smashing his cousin Jey Uso in SummerSlam, Roman Reigns brushed up his top-notch status once again. But he didn’t do it alone. Reigns’ wisest advocate continued having his back for the past couple of years, cementing his big dog status across the world. That said, it’s not only the WWE Undisputed Universal Champion who got the luck to make the best out of the mad scientist. Brock Lesnar, 46, too, made an iconic pair with arguably the most remarkable WWE managers of all time in 2002.

As wrestling manager often serves their client in a number of ways and give them an extra edge during the classic matches, it’s absolutely necessary for them to have a minimum level of compatibility to function as a united force. In that respect, the Brock Lesnar-Paul Heyman duo stands atop. At least this is how AEW talent Matt Hardy perceives it.

Matt Hardy needs little to no introduction to the WWE realm. Fans might not recall him for his individual legacy. But they surely cherish him for his impressive record as a tag team wrestler. WWE once gave Matt Hardy and his brother Jeff Hardy the lofty responsibility of elevating The Beast. Watching Lesnar closely for a long time, Hardy became well aware of the former UFC star’s supremacy as a fighter. Now, he paid Paul Heyman his due as a crucial component behind the Cowboy’s success as well.

During the latest episode of the Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, the 48-year-old referred to Heyman’s incredible mic skill and storytelling ability to justify WWE’s choice to give him the charge to take care of the next big thing in the company.

Matt Hardy noted, ” There’s gonna be a lot of notoriety attached to Paul Heyman’s name… You know if you put Paul Heyman with someone, he’s gonna do his all to make sure it is a success and he’s just a great talker he’s such a great personality whenever it comes to doing mic work and it comes to expressing a story in a very interesting and engaging way. Nobody’s better than Paul Heyman. So Paul Heyman was the perfect person to move from Brock right from the jump.”

Hardy also gave a positive shout-out to Lesnar by saying, ”I think everyone was cool with Brock. I mean, Brock was once again very humble and very appreciative of everything that people were doing for him.”

However, apart from being technically good, the classic manager-wrestler duo formed a solid real-life bond as well. It helped them to gel with the work more seamlessly.

Lesnar and Heyman’s real-life bond ages like fine wine

We have seen a handful of legendary wrestler-manager pairs like Andre the Giant and Bobby “The Brain” Heenan, The Undertaker, and the late Paul Bearer, etc. These managers have etched their names in wrestling folklore as some of the greatest companions of all time. In the modern era, we can confer the same status to Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns’ legendary special counsel.

Lesnar’s gift for gab played a massive role in The Beast’s success. Heyman advocating for the silent Lesnar and selling his matches to the highest of his ability has been a sight to behold. Currently, they operate as enemies after Roman Reigns scuffled with Brock Lesnar. However, behind the screen, they still share an adorable bond.

The Bloodline member once revealed that he’s the very few lucky people to hear ‘I love you’ from Lesnar and that too in a public forum. Of course, it spoke loudly of the intensity of their friendship, as we all know The Beast isn’t very vocal about his feelings.

Now, we need to see if the phenomenal wrestling duo ever gets the chance to bring their on-screen chemistry to the mix for the second time or not.
