WWE is one of the biggest wrestling promotions in the entire world. Its popularity knows no bound. Over the years, the company has only grown by leaps and bounds. WWE has given birth to several wrestling legends, not only wrestlers, but other entities as well.

WWE commentators are known for their speaking finesse and ability to narrate the match for the viewers sitting at home. Ever since its initiation, WWE has had several legendary commentators and some recently growing upcoming commentators.

Legendary pro wrestling commentator Don West recently passed away. And, the internet started pouring in their wishes for the deceased man. West passed away at the age of 59. The news was confirmed by TNA Impact’s Partner, Mike Tenay.

West had been suffering from lymphoma cancer for the past two years. Tenay took to Twitter to announce the death.

Tenay and West were the original comment of TNA, after Jeff Jarrett had found the company in 2002. However, West was not from a wrestling background, yet he still became one of the most popular commentators of all time.

His limitless excitement and expressions during the matches made him a well-known face.

 

West was a color analyst at TNA from 2002 to 2009, till Taz was hired. Still after that, West remained with the company for several more years.

B0th celebrities and fans were shocked to see Don West’s untimely death. However, even after his death, his contribution and legacy remained.

Don West was an extremely enthusiastic and energized person, and his commentaries had a different life to them. However, his death broke the heart of his fans.

WWE Commentator Michael Cole pays his tribute to Don West

Fellow wrestling commentator Michael Cole paid his tribute to the legendary commentator.  Cole brought up his name and paid his tribute to the man. Speaking Live, Cole said, “I would like to offer my condolences here tonight to wrestling commentator Don West’s family.”

Michael Cole’s tribute to West was a classic move by WWE, and it maintained the harmony WWE has with the other promotions. However, back in September 2021, he underwent eight weeks of chemotherapy and 13 bouts of radiation treatment, and was in remission.

However, his cancer returned within a few months, and West again became sick.
