And, since then, there has been no looking back or turning around. Cena is by far one of the most successful WWE Superstars in the history of the company. However, the biggest of stars may have insecurities and so did Cena.

He made his presence in Hollywood known. But no matter how tough Cena portrayed himself on the screen, he was a human being inside. Every day, he had to fight his own battles. During an interview with Sports Illustrated in 2018, he opened up about several things in his life, including his insecurities and facing criticism.
Cena opened up on how he had been embracing his life with his vulnerabilities. He said, “As a 41-year old dude who is just trying so many new things in life, I’m embracing the fact that for the longest I have been insecure about the way I look, and my hair, whatever. I just lost 20 pounds in China, and man did I get heat for that.”
The 45-year-old had further revealed that he does pay heed to the critics, who always criticize. He stated, “ Zero Fs. Here I am at 40 with a bunch of wisdom, I wish I could have passed to a younger me, but that’s a very important message and I try to send those through my social channels, be comfortable with you, love yourself.”

Celebrities are often the prime target of cyberbullying because of their public lifestyle. And in the same podcast, Cena revealed how he faced cyberbullying and how he has tackled his share of it. John Cena stated that when he had changed his hairstyle for a movie he was doing, people made fun of him for his hair.

He further revealed that his Twitter feed is filled with bullies and cyberbullying. And, how often people make fun of the way he looked. Cena said, “I can literally look at my Twitter feed and show them like, ‘hey! This is a real thing, happens to everybody. People make fun of the way I look all the time. I choose to laugh at myself a little bit and deal it with positivity.”

However, he had a very unique approach to handling the bullies, and that was not to succumb to the comments, and instead fight them with positivity.
