We have officially entered the WrestleMania XL week. Shortly, WWE World will be open for fans to visit, starting 4th April at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Meanwhile, the main stage at the Lincoln Financial Field is still being built. On Thursday, while fans can also indulge in different fun activities at the WWE World, the final look for the arena will be revealed.

But before the big reveal, a picture of the stage, while under construction, has been doing rounds on social media. But the fans are not excited with what they are seeing right now.

NHL and WWE broadcaster Jackie Redmond revealed on her Instagram that the WrestleMania XL stage will be officially revealed to the public in its full glory on Thursday, 4th April. It is expected that she will also be there to cover the event. However, for now, we have an image that shows under construction stage.

The picture shows an incomplete stage, with no canopy over the venue and “WrestleMania” on the screen in the background. But currently, the stage for this show doesn’t appear intriguing enough to the fans. The image shows the stage area soaked wet, hinting that Philadelphia received rain just moments before the image was clicked. Considering the current weather conditions in the area, rain is probable over the venue on either of the two days.

Although the forecasts for this weekend are a bit hazy, prepare accordingly if you are going to visit the stadium. There has been a lot of improvement from the time when the first look of the arena surfaced a few days ago. WWE usually pulls out all the stops going into WrestleMania, with the stage playing a role in translating the grandeur of the event. Large screens, long ramps, and special themes usually characterize WrestleMania stages.

However, the image of the unfinished WrestleMania XL stage left the fans with a lot to be desired.

“Seems like a downgrade” fans upset before the official WrestleMania stage reveal

Although there is a possibility that public opinion will change by the time the weekend arrives, fans are not yet on board with the overall appearance of the arena. As the image was shared on Reddit, one user disliked the screen in the back which appears to be too small for an event of WrestleMania’s size.

The fan implied how Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s new ‘FINAL BOSS’ entrance would look better with a giant screen. “That screen looks tiny AF. I need The Big Brahma Bull, please, with the lightning strikes… I’m looking forward to the stage reveal,” wrote the fan.

One more user was left disappointed and compared it to WrestleMania 31’s stage. Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California hosted WrestleMania 31 which went down in history after Seth Rollins’ successful MiTB cash-in during the Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns main event clash.

The stage that year carried a lot of special features due to it being held in Silicon Valley and had a giant screen with the WrestleMania logo and a play button. Reminiscing about that stage the user wrote, “Idk about this one. Seems like a huge downgrade, even WM 31s stage was more “advanced.””

Another user wished that the leak early photo leak was intentional and WWE adds more features to the setup for their biggest event of the year. They wrote, “I hope this is being leaked on purpose and they bring in a few props for the staging closer to the event. I’m hopeful but stage design has disappointed me since 08.” In 2008, WrestleMania 24 was held in Citrus Bowl, Orlando. It was the first WrestleMania held outdoors since 1993 and WWE delivered with its stage set up. The set featured a hotel-like structure at the entrance and a massive steel rig above the ring.

One user compared it to last year’s WrestleMania stage and said that due to WrestleMania XL not having a particular theme, it looks bland right now. WrestleMania 39 was held at SoFi stadium, in California. The event carried the theme “WrestleMania Goes Hollywood” which was reflected in the stage setup. “I think this Wrestlemania doesn’t really have a theme as compared to Wrestlemania 39 in Hollywood where the stage designers went all out. That’s why it looks so plain as of the moment,” the user wrote.

A user was not impressed by the first image of the set. With the stakes as high as ever and some of the biggest names in WWE history participating at the event, fans are maybe expecting WWE to go bigger and louder. The Cody Rhodes-Bloodline saga has taken a new life with the inclusion of The Rock, who will compete in a tag team match on Night 1 alongside Roman Reigns. The event will also see Seth Rollins, Rhodes’ partner on Night 1 against Reigns and The Rock, defend his World Championship against Drew McIntyre.

“For what supposed to be biggest wrestlemania of all time. the stage looks underwhelming. i expected it’s gonna be dope stage like Wrestlemania 39 but hey maybe it’s just me,” the user expressing his disappointment wrote.

It is looking like some fans are not on board with what they are seeing at the moment as far as the WrestleMania stage goes. Will the official reveal on Thursday change their mind? We will keep you posted. Meanwhile, what do you think of the first image of the under-construction WrestleMania XL stage?
